First Date

May 2019

How we met isn't that exciting. I was his a manager at Party City and when Ben got hired, I was the only one willing to train a new associate. Ben and I spent a lot of early morning shifts together since I was still in school and Ben had his regular full time job. Our first date happened because of luck, but apparently wasn't our first date. There was a Saturday shift that I worked for him and he said he would owe me a drink. I was excited, a date could be a fun time! But as we got closer to the date, I decided I was going to cancel. The plan was to text him while I was at work since I had to close, and tell him it was too busy and I was too tired to do anything after work. But to my surprise when I got to work, he had agreed to work a double and close with me... I was stuck. After the shift we ended up going to a bar, The Boar and we talked the night away. By the end of the night he was already asking me if I wanted to do something the next day. After about two weeks of hanging out and talking, he asked me if I wanted to go on a date.... let me tell you how stunned I was.

Proposal

10/10/20

Another amazing thing that came out of our non first date was that bar became our special place. That is our go to for celebrating New Years Eve, be with friends and is also where we went the night he proposed. I thought he was going to do it at the bar. He kept saying we were waiting for his friend to show up. I figured it was so he could take pictures of the big moment! So the friend shows up and goes to the bar and starts talking to a girl! Our big moment and he is ruining it! We went to say hi and he apologized for not coming over... Ben was fine so I acted like I was too... but secretly pissed . I wanted my ring! I curled my hair in hopes of getting “just engaged” photos! The car ride home I tried to not seem upset, because after all it was still a great date night! On our way home Ben played one of our songs, A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. I thought he was rubbing it in because he knew I was a little disappointed. Apparently though it was all part of the plan. When I walked in the door our cat was sitting on the couch with a collar around her neck (she never wears a collar) with my ring and a note saying "Yours Furever"
