The site of our wedding, Evergreen House, built in 1857, was the home of John Work Garrett, President of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. The Garrett's were great collectors of fine and decorative art. Their eclectic taste is evident in the variety of post-impressionist paintings, American art glass, Japanese lacquerware, and other remarkable objects on display throughout the estate. Evergreen House was donated to the Johns Hopkins University in 1942. We invite you to tour the first floor of Evergreen House as part of cocktail hour. Highlights include the Louis Comfort Tiffany glass canopy over the door of the North Entrance, the 'Victorian' room, and the rare book and manuscript collection in the main library.
