Our Story

#thankyoukrystalkiger

Ben and Jess met in 2005 (at 10 years old) when Jess moved to Delaware. Being around the corner from each other, slowly led to family BBQs and playing together in the neighborhood. At this point, however, “cooties” were a big deal. Flash forward to high school, Ben and Jess hung out a lot in group settings. Jess developed a huge crush, not knowing Ben was slowly doing the same. Jess was, however, soon leaving for college and did not want to ruin a friendship she cherished. Unknowingly, Ben thought the same. They say you meet your best friends in college and that was certainly true for Jess. Krystal very quickly became tired of listening about this boy back home. Her, being the sensitive and gentle type, sent Ben the message Jess swore she would never let him see. The message was sent and hyperventilating kicked in. 12 minutes later the phone lit up...OMG Ben liked Jess back! A first date was set in March 2015 on a weekend Jess was home from school. (Pizza By Elizabeth...yum!) March 29, 2015 was the official start when Ben asked Jess “[s]o what are we doing here?” 3 years of long distance and another year later... July 5, 2019 They decided to take Rosa, the flower girl, to Sesame Place for her first trip! (They, too, are children, so it was more for them.) A few water rides and an Elmo meet and greet later, the final photo was happening. With a sudden move away, all Jess saw was the top of Ben’s head holding the most beautiful ring. Ben said the words Jess had been dreaming of since 2015 and all she could muster up was, “STOP!” After the initial shock wore off she did say “YES”, of course! “I couldn’t have imagined that the boy around the corner would some day become the man of my dreams. Our memories and time spent together have only begun, even though we’re on year 15. I truly am marrying my best friend! Thank you for being a part of this special time.” -Jessica (the Bride!)
