Ben & Jerry’s Factory Tour
Watch how the ice cream is made at Ben and Jerry's, enjoy a free sample, visit the "flavor graveyard," and try some new ice cream! The scoop shop offers nearly every variety available. We recommend trying the seasonal flavor that can only be found at the Waterbury location. Our favorite flavors are Cherry Garcia, Milk and Cookies, and Coffee Toffee Bar Crunch.
Cold Hollow Cider Mill
This is a wonderful opportunity to try New England apple cider donuts and non-alcoholic and alcoholic ciders. The sights and smells within the mill are a perfect fall experience.
Rock of Ages Granite Quarry
This site is one of the biggest granite quarries in the world and offers a site tour and museum that explores the economic significance of Vermont's granite. You may even be able to glimpse the towering pile of granite in Graniteville, VT, above the treeline as you drive near the area.
Barr Hill by Caledonia Spirits
The Barr Hill distillery is an impressive building that draws many people year-round. Known for its gin, the distillery uses honey to sweeten its creations. Barr Hill also offers small bites, a factory tour, and canned packs of their Gin and Tonic.
Hubbard Park
Located on the hill above the State House, this park has a frog pond, a few different trails, an interpretive path and a large stone tower. There are great views from atop the tower and paths down that lead into Montpelier.
North Branch Nature Center
North Branch is a network of walking trails, bike trails and a large plot of community gardens. This is a great place to walk around and enjoy nature.
Pho Capital
Jen and Ben love Pho Capitol for its amazing noodle bowls and inviting, low-key atmosphere. One of the best "cheap eats" around town.
Cabot Creamery Store - Waterbury
Everything Cabot is available here. Even just the samples are varied and interesting. From fancy cheeses, craft beers and wines, to accouterments and kitchen furnishings, this is certainly an interesting place to have a look around.
Capitol Theatre
The biggest movie theater in Montpelier, Capitol Theatre is located near the Capitol Building and government offices.
Vermont State House
This is a beautiful old building with a lot of charm. Open to the public, you can view various government chambers, Vermont history within and picturesque front lawn.
Camels Hump
Camel's hump is a fantastic hike and LOOKS LIKE A CAMEL!!! This mountain range is an amazing site from the highway as you approach Montpelier from the south.
Mount Mansfield
Mt Mansfield is the biggest mountain in Vermont. Situated among historic Smuggler's Notch, Mansfield offers something to do in almost every season. Skiing, hiking and mountain biking are all popular activities here.

Great Vermont Corn Maze
IF you have a LOT of time to spare and you're feeling especially ADVENTUROUS... this is the biggest corn maze in New England and has been operating for 20+ years. It will likely take you 2-5 hours to complete. There is always a theme chosen and it is revealed to you at the very end.
Capital City Farmers Market
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! This farmer's market brings all of the Montpelier area together over food and wares made from local vendors around the state. It's a heart-warming tradition and a satisfying way to support farmers and businesses.
