Jen and Ben first met after communicating on the dating app Bumble. Their first date was a rainy day jog around a park in Massachusetts. In the next 4 years living in Massachusetts, Jen worked her way to a Masters’ Degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis from Western New England University and Ben traveled from Maine to Florida working for a video production company outside of Boston.
As they were ready for a change of pace and new opportunities, Jen and Ben moved down to Ardmore, Pennsylvania. This would be the first time living together under one roof. Unfortunately, this move was in lock-step with the Coronavirus pandemic. Through all the trials and tribulations of the next two years, their relationship emerged stronger than before and they decided to make their next move.
With the objective of returning to New England area, Jen found a great job opportunity in Vermont in 2022. Ben and Jen moved to the capital of Vermont, which is exactly 3 hours away from immediate family on both sides. Ben began working for Ben and Jerry’s at the Waterbury, VT factory.
After seven years of dating, Ben was ready to move things along. He began ring shopping and also purchased a Ring Pop from Walmart. One day, when Jen got home from work, he was unusually nervous. “Let’s go for a walk,” he said. He took Jen to a bridge, got down on the incorrect knee and asked if she wanted a Ring Pop. Then he switched knees and pulled out a real ring and asked the question. There was a double rainbow. There was a Great Blue Heron. Jen said "yes!"
