Our Story

Ben moved to Texas in October 2024 and quickly found community at Keystone Church—especially in a young professionals group that kept him coming back each week. Alyssa was already part of that group, happily content and not looking for a relationship… until she noticed a new, kind (and pretty cute) face in the room. They started with casual conversations at group events, but everything changed one night at Truck Yard. In what they both now call a “God moment,” the only open seat by the fire pit was right next to each other. Hours later, after talking about everything from books to life, neither of them wanted the conversation to end. Ben, determined to keep things going, read a book Alyssa recommended—earning major points—and found every excuse to keep talking to her. Eventually, he asked her to grab coffee at Summer Moon. What may or may not have been a date quickly turned into something much more. Their conversation felt easy, meaningful, and full of possibility. When Ben asked if they could intentionally get to know each other more, Alyssa didn’t hesitate—something she still believes was completely God-led. From then on, coffee became their thing. Between church, Bible study, and countless conversations, they built a relationship rooted in faith, honesty, and a lot of laughter. It didn’t take long for either of them to realize this was something special. On July 8, 2025, they officially started dating. Over the next several months, they grew closer through shared faith, time with family, and plenty of inside jokes (and coffee). Ben admired Alyssa’s strength and heart for God, while Alyssa fell in love with Ben’s servant leadership, steady presence, and ability to make her laugh no matter what. Knowing from the beginning that he was dating for marriage, Ben prayed, sought wise counsel, and eventually asked Alyssa’s mom for her blessing. Then, on January 11, 2026, he proposed at Keystone—right where their story began. Now engaged, they’re best friends, biggest supporters, and incredibly grateful for the way God brought them together. They’re excited for everything ahead—and even more excited to spend forever together.
