Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a natural formation turned into concert venue/workout space/movie theatre. You can drive there and park (as long as there isn't an event) and walk into the venue, run the stairs and get a great view of downtown. You can also hike one of the many trails in the area.
YUM. Safta has Israeli cuisine in the form of shared plates and is very group friendly. 'Safta' means grandmother in hebrew and the food definitely has a homey feeling. It's also on the second floor of the Source Hotel so if you're staying there, it's a great place for lunch!
River North Art District aka Rino is perfect for brewery hopping. If you like beer, you should make an afternoon or evening out of this area, you can also spot Amanda's office and understand why she goes to happy hour so frequently. Some of our favorite breweries are Ratio, Odell, and Epic. If beer isn't your thing, we recommend checking out Improper City, Barcelona Wine Bar or Infinite Monkey Theorem. If you're there late at night, Finn's Manor has a bunch of food trucks!
Golden is an adorable town that sits right at the foothills before you get to the mountains, founded in 1859, it's one of the oldest cities in Colorado. The Historic downtown is full of shops, galleries, restaurants and it's right next to a creek. You can tour Coors brewery, take a hike nearby or drive the Lariat Loop through the mountains.
We are slightly partial to Asian food and Hop Alley is one of our top recommendations if you're looking for a modern take on Chinese cuisine. A few other Asian restaurants we love are Uchi, Q House, Zoe Ma Ma (casual), China Jade (dim sum), Bao Brewhouse.
Who doesn't love brunch?! Denver is full of amazing brunch spots, make a reservation if you can! We recommend Denver Biscuit Company, Onefold, Snooze, Root Down, and Sassafras American Eatery.
Want to take a stroll close to downtown? Sloan's Lake is a quick drive and a beautiful 2.6 mile loop where you get city and mountain views. We love taking our pups here for a jog or roller blading! Spots nearby to check out after are Edgewater Public Market (food hall), Joyride Brewing (dogs allowed), Little Man Ice Cream Factory, & Odell Brewing.
14er anyone? Want all the glory with little effort? Mt Evans is a 14er close to Denver that you can hike up or drive up. It's the tallest paved highway in America with amazing views at the summit! Please dress accordingly, the gain in elevation means it could be 75 and sunny in Denver but 35 and snowing at the top of the summit!
Did someone say hip cafeteria? Denver is flourishing with these casual places to eat. Milk Market downtown is one of Amanda's design projects and she would love for you to check it out. It sits on the corner of the Dairy Block and also has a super fun interactive alley! Other notable food halls are Avanti F&B, Denver Central Market, Stanley Marketplace, Edgewater Public Market, and The Golden Mill.
