What is the dress code?

Answer

Our wedding will be Black Tie Optional - we’d love for our guests to dress up for the occasion! Long dresses, gowns, suits, & tuxedos are all welcome.

Where should I stay while in town?

Answer

We would love for all guests to join us in staying at Mountain Shadows Resort, but we do understand you may prefer a more luxurious or affordable option. For a more luxurious stay, we recommend the Omni Montelucia or Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa, both of which are right next to Mountain Shadows Resort. For a more affordable stay, we recommend The McCormick Scottsdale Millennium or the DoubleTree Resort Scottsdale, both of which are a 7-minute drive from Mountain Shadows. There's also an abundance of great vacation house rentals in the area, which you can find on either Airbnb or VRBO.

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

We are keeping our wedding celebration intimate and are unable to accommodate additional guests. Please refer to your invitation for the names of those invited.

What is the weather like in Paradise Valley/Scottsdale this time of year?

Answer

Our wedding will primarily take place outdoors, but we do plan to move into a ballroom around 9 pm. Please be sure to dress accordingly and monitor the forecast that week! The temperatures in Paradise Valley/Scottsdale this time of year are typically mid-80s during the day and drop to low 70s once the sun goes down.

Is there a room block?

Answer

Yes! There is a room block set up at Mountain Shadows Resort under "Portuese & Barry Wedding", offering discounted room rates for both Friday and Saturday night. Let us know if you are unable to access these rates. We will work with Mountain Shadows to accommodate as many of our guests as possible. (Discount can be applied to rooms starting Wednesday, 10/14, to Monday, 10/19)

What is the parking situation?

Answer

Complimentary valet parking will be offered the evening of the wedding. However, if you plan to consume alcohol, we kindly ask that you utilize a ride-share service (such as Uber or Lyft) for your safety and the safety of others.

I have a dietary restriction - how do I let you know?

Answer

When you RSVP to our wedding in the Summer of 2026, you'll be able to indicate whether yourself or anyone in your party has any kind of allergy or restriction. The more detail you can provide us, the better!
