Meow Wolf - Convergence Station is a completely immersive art installation that is unlike anything you will experience elsewhere. You will be transported to worlds only possible in dreams and fantasy novels. We have been here twice, and had completely unique experiences both times!
This is our favorite restaurant in Denver! It has fantastic pizza, a large selection of local brews, a really cool atmosphere, and the best loaded garlic knots that Tommy has ever had.
This was where Tommy was originally planning to propose to Belem, and where we subsequently went to take pictures to announce our engagement! It is a beautiful place with gardens inspired from around the world.
We love going to the Denver Aquarium! Their exhibits are beautiful and feature marine life from around the world. Although, DO NOT eat at the sit-down restaurant here. Their seafood is about as good as you'd expect for a restaurant in Colorado.
The Denver Zoo allows you to get up close to some really cool animals from around the world. This is a really fun day activity, but you will need to purchase your tickets from the zoo's website in advance!
The Lowry Beer Garden is within walking distance of Belem and Tommy's first apartment in Denver. It has a great atmosphere reminiscent of the beer gardens in Germany, and has an enormous selection of local beers and food.
Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater is touted as one of the best music venues in the world! It is also a beautiful place to do some hiking or scenic driving, without having to take a full day to drive far into the mountains.
We have to include this on the list. This is one of the most stunning National Parks in the world. However, if you plan to visit here, we highly recommend you pay attention to the park closures and weather, as winter starts early in the Rockies!
Black Hawk gives you a little taste of Vegas, but in the Rocky Mountains. It is not too far from downtown Denver, and the drive out there is beautiful. There are several resorts and casinos here that will guarantee a fun night out!
Tommy and Belem spent their 6-month anniversary here and absolutely loved it! Estes Park is nestled in the Rocky Mountains, guaranteeing breathtaking views in every direction. There is a quaint downtown with many fun shops and restaurants, and the town serves as a gateway for any and all mountain related activities. If you're in the mood to be spooked, the famous and haunted Stanley Hotel, featured in 'The Shining', is located here too!
