Like any modern love story, Michael and Rachel's started by swiping right on the infamous Tinder app. After a few dates, Rachel was head over heels! One of their first real dates as a couple was a day trip to a windy and cold Philadelphia. They drank beer, ate great food, and walked along the river at Penn's Landing. 18 months later, on a much nicer and warmer day, they took another trip to Philadelphia. A weekend of going to the zoo, eating penne vodka in bed, and spending the days with family and friends. Sunday was spent eating cheesesteaks and drinking beer. The day ended with another stroll through Penn's Landing. The next thing Rachel knew, Mike was on one knee asking to continue their greatest love story! Since the engagement, Rachel and Mike have been on quite the adventure! Rachel finished her Masters in December of 2021 with the support of Michael, and then embarked on a 7-month trip to Kentucky to help those affected by the tornadoes. Michael of course had to stay back in New Jersey and learn how to navigate long distance. This included facetime dates, quick weekend trips, gaming sessions, and many, many phone calls. Kentucky ended sooner than expected because Rachel then took a job in Seattle, Washington. This left them ten days to pack up their stuff, say goodbye to friends and family, and travel across the country for the first time! Now Rachel and Mike get to explore the great pacific northwest all while planning a wedding and their futures together with their wonderful black cat, Momo.
