It was Ignite Texas counselor reveal night at the UT Tower in the Spring of 2021. Among us that night—besides our fellow counselors—was something neither of us expected: the start of our story. We were both Exercise Science majors, learning how movement shapes people’s lives—yet somehow, we kept moving toward each other, whether in class, at church, or at camp. Over the next two semesters, we kept crossing paths—at group hangs, study sessions, and Sundays at The Austin Stone. Our friendship grew steadily, being built on something solid- our Love for Jesus. After a lunch at Cenote, a walk around Laby Bird Lake and winter break we finally went on our first date. A few weeks later, on January 25, 2022, we made it official at Pease Park—because in that moment, we knew. We felt at Pease with where we were and where we were headed. For the next year and a half, we got to build our story in Austin, finishing school, making memories, and staying Hooked every step of the way. Then, in the summer of 2023, came our biggest challenge yet—long-distance. Jaclyn set off for Texas Tech, chasing her dream of becoming a physical therapist, while Zach stayed in Austin, continuing his own education. For a year and a half, we’ve made every mile count, knowing the wait would be worth it. And on January 10, 2025, in Jaclyn’s hometown of Fort Worth, Zach got down on one knee and asked the easiest question of his life. For now, we’re still in two places—but on December 21, 2025, that all changes. No more distance, no more waiting—just forever after all! We can't wait!
