We ask that our guests arrive dressed formally during our ceremony. This could be a dressy jumpsuit or modest cocktail dress for the ladies and nice dress slacks & button ups for the gentlemen. It is humbly requested by the bride that guests refrain from wearing white, creams, or ivory.
Your children are more than welcome to join us at our ceremony and wedding celebration! While we understand that some situations are unavoidable, we do ask that parents excuse themselves and their children during the ceremony in the event that their little one become fussy or antsy out of respect for others observing the ceremony. There is a gathering area as well as other sitting areas for parents and children to sit comfortably and regroup. During the wedding celebration, we ask that children be accounted for during the important dances as well as cake cutting. Thank you in advance for your understanding and we can’t wait to celebrate with you and your family!❤️
If your date was overlooked or went unmentioned in the RSVP section of our website, please contact (419) 365-5105 or email kierstenandjoshua@gmail.com with the name of your guest. We will do our best to accommodate you and your guest, however, we do ask that you contact us no later than August 14th to allow for our catering company to be notified of any changes that need to be made.
Please arrive approximately 15-30 minutes prior to the beginning of the wedding ceremony. Once seated, please allow time and space for the bride and groom to continue getting ready for the beginning of the ceremony.
The bride and groom, as well as their families, will be asked to go to the front of the sanctuary for photos after the ceremony has come to a close. All other guests will be asked to head to the Mercer County Fairgrounds Junior Fair Building for Cocktail Hour. Here, there will be light snacks and refreshments to enjoy while the bride & groom, their wedding party, and families, are photographed. Sit down, relax, and mingle before the wedding celebration begins!
We have chosen to have an unplugged wedding ceremony. However, there will be a “social media minute” immediately before the ceremony! Once Joshua and Kiersten meet at the alter, there will be a brief announcement inviting guests to take as many photos as they’d like. Once the minute is up, the phones go down! It’s the best of both worlds. Out of respect for the chosen photographer, the bride & groom and all guests, we ask that cellular devices and other electronics are silenced and left in purses or pockets during the ceremony. There will be opportunities for photos to be taken at the wedding celebration.
All smoking is to be done outside of the church, preferably away from the entrances out of respect for others walking in or out. At the reception, the same guidelines apply. All smoking is to be done outside of the building, preferably away from the entrances out of respect for others walking in or out, or those standing directly inside of the doors of the building. Thank you.
There will be a bar at the wedding celebration. However, we ask that all who consume alcohol, consume responsibly as well as respectfully. Please coordinate a sober designated driver, or DD, prior to arriving at the wedding celebration. Drunkenness is not condoned nor will be tolerated. The bar will be closed at approximately 11PM. Please bring an ID. No one under the age of twenty-one (21) years of age is to consume alcoholic beverages. If you chose not to drink, there will be ‘mocktail’ beverages and other non-alcoholic drinks. Your decision to or not to drink is your choice— and respected either way.
Don’t sweat it! If you can only make it to one or the other, that’s no issue at all. We just ask that you RSVP by the given date on the invitations. If you can’t make it to either, the bride respectfully asks that you contact her maid of honor if it’s the week of and not the bride—as she will have a lot to prepare for the week of! Thank you🙂
