Maid of Honor
If I'm the heart and creativity, Jordan's the brain and sheer force of will. I think fate kissed her fingers when our lives intertwined--it was truly a friendship that was meant to be. We are alike in so many ways, but just different enough to add some excitement into our summer-long TV binge sessions. She is strong, sassy, always thoughtful and loyal, never to be replaced. I will physically fight anyone who tries.
Best Man
In Kindergarten, Sean approached me with a simple question: "Do you want to be my friend?" That simple question resulted in 18 years of friendship. In that time, we've been to countless Cubs games, spent hours playing Goldenball and survived through many drunken nights in our later years. There could not be anyone more deserving of standing up at my wedding than the man who has put up with me for longer than anyone else.
Maid of Honor
The yin to my yang. Abby has a heart of gold that cannot be matched, and will always be the first to come to my side when things go south. There's never been Hannah or Abby, always Hannah-and-Abby, and I couldn't imagine it--wouldn't even want it--any other way. Whether we're creating our own language (HP BBQ?) or having late-night talks about everything and nothing, it's safe to say I'm at my best with babbins.
Best Man
A year after Sean and I became friends Brendan entered the picture, and it was immediately a life-long friendship. The first solid memory I have of Brendan is going to a Cubs game, where he dropped a $20 bill off the upper deck and into a very lucky fan's beer. To this day, that sums him up best. He's been the brother I've never had, right alongside Sean, and I wouldn't want to have a wedding without him there.
Maid of Honor
Everyone knows that one person with so much natural charm and bright personality that they could strike up a conversation with a tree and get the tree to dance, right? Meet Meg. She's the amalgamation of everything I wish I could be, and she does nothing but be herself. It doesn't matter how stupid or low I feel, I unequivocally know that I have a confidante a phone call or short drive away in my sister. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have her by my side!
Groomsman
If there is one thing that describes Nick and I's friendship, it would be our sophomore year of college, where we decided to take on and complete the challenge of watching every movie on IMDB's top 250 movie list. There is not a single person who can geek out with me on the level that Nick does. We became (and remained) such good friends because he's the only one who truly matches me in likes, dislikes and personality. I'm honored to have him stand at my wedding.
Bridesmaid
Meet the only person who's actively gotten me out of my introverted shell over and over again for as long as I can remember (I only sort of resent her for it). As someone who holds the title of longest friendship, Rachel's seen every side of me. She was there when I went through childhood, my pre-teens (yikes), up through college 'til now. We grew together like twining vines, stronger together than one without the other. My wedding wouldn't be complete without my llama.
Groomsman
The Ted to our Lily and Marshall (JULY). If we're being honest, Paul's been in this relationship right from the start. He coined the nicknames "female Jake" and "male Hannah" soon after Hannah and I met, and he's been just as close with us ever since. After deciding to come to KU (right decision), Paul became a fixture in our lives. He's not only my best friend, but Hannah's as well, and having him be a part of our special day means the world to us both.
Bridesmaid
I'm sure anyone who sees us together thinks we're pulling a prank. This little blonde cutie with her bubbly personality surely wouldn't mesh well with the likes of me. Turns out, we do pretty great together. With Claire (Clarissa, if you will), some of my greatest long-standing jokes and traditions have come about. Tippy? Tippy, child? Just don't let Claire, Abby and I remain together with alcohol for too long--we're basically gremlins.
Best Man
When we became friends, Koch took everything I thought I was good at and made me feel like I was horrible (that's giving him too much credit, but it's true). Our friendship can be summed up in the instance where we spent eight hours playing Rock Band--I screwed up one song and he hasn't forgiven me since. Koch, in an incredibly short period of time, became inseparable with both me and Hannah. My wedding wouldn't be complete without Ander.
Bridesmaid
Regardless of Jake, Anna and I were destined to be best friends. I'm not only honored to call her my sister-in-law, I'm honored that she's a part of my life in any way. She's cool, she's funny, she was instantly easy to get along with. We're two peas in a pod, ones who will undoubtedly be going to concerts with each other for the rest of our lives. Why wouldn't I want to share my special day with her by my side?
Groomsman
The one guy to make the right decision to come to the University of Kansas after high-school. Pat and I have been friends going back to playing together in youth basketball leagues. The two of us have been through a lot living together for two years in the greatest college town in America. We mastered the art of beer pong trick shots, played hours of kario mart and binged hours of "How I Met Your Mother" and "Chuck."
