Travel

We understand many of you will be traveling in from other parts of the country, and we wanted to provide information on several ways to travel to Savannah. For everyone interested in staying in Savannah overnight or for several days, we have also provided some information regarding hotel options.

Flight

Flying into Atlanta, GA (ATL)

Atlanta is approximately a 4-hour drive from Savannah, so if you don't mind a bit of a drive, this could be a good option for you. If you are looking for a nonstop flight, we recommend you consider flying delta, for they provide the most options from airports all over the country. A bit of a warning about the drive from Atlanta to Savannah: IT IS BORING. There is a lot of beautiful country to see along the way, but don't expect there to be many great places to stop.

Flight

Flying into Savannah, GA (SAV)

Savannah, GA does have an airport. If you are looking to spare yourself a drive, this could be the option for you! All flights into Savannah will require a connection, regardless of airline. The most efficient will probably be on Delta with a stop in Atlanta, but there are options on other carriers such as Southwest and American.

Flight

Flying into Jacksonville, FL (JAX)

Another option you might want to investigate is flying into Jacksonville, FL and driving two hours north up the coast to Savannah. Flights into Jacksonville will most likely require a connection somewhere, but there are offerings from most major airlines. While interstate 95 is a pretty direct route, you would have the opportunity to take a detour and enjoy some of the Florida and Georgia Barrier Islands such as Cumberland, Jekyll, and St. Simon's.

Hotel

Savannah Historic District

If you are looking for a place to stay, the Savannah Historic District is the place to start. With the wedding venue at Red Gate Farms approximately 15 minutes away by car, the Historic District provides you with the most options for hotels, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. There are hotels from all the major chains throughout the historic district, so there are plenty of options. We really enjoyed our time staying near River Street, so if you are looking for a suggestion, we recommend you start there. If there is enough interest, we plan to charter a trolley from the wedding reception back to the historic district at the end of the night, for a small fee.

House Or Rental

Rental Houses on Tybee Island

If you'd rather not stay in a hotel, there are plenty of rental houses available through Vrbo and Airbnb. The bridal party and family members will be renting houses on Tybee Island, so why not turn a wedding into a beach trip?
