If there’s any sport that’s made for love, baseball might be it. Just how did we meet? It’s simple; at a baseball game of course! Chris and I first met each other at our kid's baseball game. While the sparks flew with the nudge from our mutual friend, baseball season is busy, so we took our time, we didn’t have our first date until December 24th, 2015. That’s right, Christmas Eve! Our schedules aligned, and we met at Denny’s. We ended up staying there all night talking, till 2 am to be exact! Denny’s will always hold a special place in our hearts. Every year, on the 24th we go back to Denny’s, we even try to go to the same location off Grand Ave. It’s a staple in our lives. Chris’s family soon figured out that Chris was dating 'someone', but they didn’t know “who” so Chris’s family nick-named me “Thursday” because we only hung out on Thursdays! To this day; sometimes I am still referenced as Thursday. Our relationship became “official”, a few months later. Over the summer of 2016, I was introduced to the family, and from there, Chris and I told the kids, who swear they had “no idea”. In July 2018; we blended our households; Travis and I moved in with Chris, Johnny, and Charlie. From there, the memories and adventures continued to blossom. Fast forward 8 years & we are getting married!

For my birthday this past year, Chris came home from work in the middle of the day and told me to pack a bag because we were going to spend the night in Sedona! I love Sedona, but we have never stayed the night, so I was super excited! We rushed up there; checked into our room, and dropped off our bags, where I was surprised by a nice bottle of cider and a delicious tray of cookies! (Thank you, Alisa!!) – Feeling starving & becoming hangry, I requested we go to dinner first thing, and Chris agreed! I proceeded to get ready in the bathroom; after digging through my makeup bags, I realized I didn't bring a hairbrush on our adventure. As I walked out of the bathroom, and to my surprise, it happened!! Chris secretly set up a phone to record, got down on one knee; and the words flowed “I thought we could go to dinner a bit differently tonight, I want to take you as my fiancé!" (ohhhh myyy - how sweet is this wording?!?) I was beyond shocked, and filled with so many happy emotions, I began to cry and of course, said Yes! Chris's proposal was an actual surprise; I know many soon-to-be brides say they had no idea, but they secretly did, I truly had no idea, at all. And to top it off; he asked my family for permission before popping the question and no one slipped and told me! Sedona will always be our special place!
