Officiant & Best Man! Joey and Keaton met at a summer camp in high school and then became roommates freshman year of college. Freshman year went so well that they were roommates for the rest of college and have spoken nearly every day since. Joey’s charisma and humor is matched by Megan’s and Joey + Megan + Keaton have become a unit. Often Joey and Keaton’s phone calls turn into a “Joey and Megan” call while Keaton kindly listens. Keaton often jokes that he is marrying a woman with the personality of Joey. Max and Keaton met in the first grade and experienced all of Greenhill together. Lower School, Middle School, and High School. School was not enough time together as they both joined BBYO (Jewish youth group) and tackled it as a team. The stories together are endless and they can tell them all because they are unforgettable. If something notable happened in Keaton’s life during his Greenhill years, Max was there. First beer at a party, trying to throw a party at Max’s parents’ house and getting caught, running for school elections. Max and Keaton have gone through their own separate evolutions as people, but they have done all together. Eric and Keaton met Freshman year of college in a class with an eccentric history professor where we had to read hundreds of pages of obscure Spanish history a week. Keaton was drawn to Eric because he always did the readings. Eric’s cool, calm, and collected nature combined with Keaton’s desire for excitement has made their adventures fascinating such as flying on a private plane for spring break to then participate in a black market unlicensed SCUBA diving trip. Ryan and Keaton met in pre-k at Greenhill and have remained close to this day. When Keaton thinks about his young childhood, he thinks about throwing the frisbee in Ryan’s backyard, playing club penguin next to Ryan, and hiding in Ryan’s house because if his parents can’t find Keaton then the play date can continue. A connection grew so strong that Ryan asked Keaton to marry him. Keaton said no – fortunately Megan came along. Ryan hyperfixates on his interests and Keaton loves hyperfixating on Ryan’s interests. Collin is Keaton’s youngest cousin through their moms. As a child, Keaton viewed Collin as a rabid, toothless creature who caused chaos wherever he went. Crying anytime he lost a board game, getting hurt and screaming whenever they roughhoused, and breaking most things – Collin was a lot. Against all odds, he grew to a mature, 6’2”, brilliant man currently in the engineering school at UT Austin. Collin and Keaton have grown to become extremely close friends and very few tears are shed now. Keaton is so glad to have a great friend in Collin and he happens to be related to him. Austin and Keaton met in Kindergarten at Greenhill. With Austin growing up in Flower Mound, Keaton’s father discouraged the friendship due to the drive distance but Austin and Keaton prevailed. The decision that remained unquestionable was that they would be friends for the rest of their lives. Ben’s brisket and competitiveness makes him an exciting addition to the Butowsky-family crew and will equally make him an asset to the bachelor party. Will and Keaton met in the same history class with Eric Lawrence freshman year of college. Will had a buzz cut and slightly resembled Vin Diesel. It took thirty seconds to learn that Will was a goofy, sensitive guy, who likes to throw caution to the wind to have fun. Keaton’s kinda guy! Although Will shipped off to Denver after college, his relationship with Keaton does not require ongoing maintenance for them to remain close. Nathan and Keaton met in college through Avery and Joey. Nathan moved to Dallas in 2022 and Joey said “hey you should meet up with Nathan, he just moved to Dallas.” Another great idea from Joey because Nathan and Keaton have grown to become extremely close. Nathan and Keaton share obscure interests and hobbies, and are neither ashamed of it. Keaton’s favorite memory is when he and Nathan went to an irish pub and played backgammon for hours and hours. Nathan and Keaton are thought partners and do not need a grand plan to justify spending time together. Keaton met Nathan most recently of all of the groomsmen and he is the most recent add to the wedding party.
