THROUGH MEGAN'S LENS: It was June 2022 and I recently moved to Dallas, TX. They say you plan and God laughs, and that's exactly what happened. I downloaded Hinge since I was working remote and trying to put myself out there in a new city, and in June, 2022 Keaton sent me a rose! He messaged me and said "Want to go to a bar and make up elaborate stories about people?" and I deleted the app. I don't even think I looked at his profile. Then in December, after no luck of meeting someone organically, I redownloaded Hinge and unarchived my messages (crazy to think something so small would lead to something this big!), I saw Keaton's message and thought it would be funny to respond six months later. I messaged him back finally and said: "is it too late to say yes?" By my surprise Keaton responded the next day with "the deadline was tonight at midnight". He asked me to drinks and I said I was busy (I was not busy, I was nervous), and then later he said he had an extra ticket to a magic show and he'd love to take me. I was terrified to go on a dating app date with a total stranger but I thought what's the worst that could happen? I'll never forget seeing Keaton for the first time, and it felt like being reunited, even though I had no idea who he was. I even met Mrs. Butowsky 15 minutes in, since she called Keaton and he answered. We spent the evening people watching & making up stories of the characters at the magic show, we were instantly best friends. A few days later, Keaton asked me on a Dinner date and I declined. I was nervous because I really liked him and definitely tried to self sabotage. I was leaving to California for the next two weeks and I remember having this gut feeling that I needed to see Keaton again. I immediately called him and asked him to ice cream. At ice cream, I realized that being around him was what I wanted and it was worth it to do it scared. Keaton told me that night that he saw us being serious, and I told him to take it slow. When I was in California, we Facetimed every day and we've never stopped talking. We started dating two weeks after that ice cream date, and we've been attached at the hip ever since. I'm so happy that all those little moments and decisions led to meeting the love of my life! I couldn't be more excited to spend forever with the man that makes me so happy. THROUGH KEATON'S LENS: I was 24, living in Uptown Dallas, and having a great time! I was on Hinge periodically and I remember in June 2022 seeing this girl's profile. She was gorgeous and seemed so sweet! This girl totally was getting all of the likes on Hinge. I knew that I had to do something different. Women (and I) love to gossip so I messaged her "want to go to a bar and make up stories about the people around us?" I sent the message and waited for her to respond (if she ever did) SIX MONTHS PASS I am on the couch with a friend and the Hinge jingle goes off. Someone matched with me! (Literally never happens) It was Megan! She did a great job recapping the date above. After our first date, I knew I wanted to see her again before she went back to California for three weeks. I snagged a reservation at Hudson House on Lover's Lane, killer spot because of their Christmas decorations. I asked her out to dinner and she said no. WTF? Okay....I will invite my mom then. Dani and I had a wonderful time and I get a text from Megan. "Hey do you want to get Andy's Custard before I go back to California for the next couple weeks?" My mom said "Keaton, go!" I picked her up and we went to Andy's. Sitting in the parking lot while I was eating a boot daddy and she had a vanilla custard with Reese's, I told her that I could see us being something serious. She said "yeah I guess but let's take it slow". We were dating three weeks later.
