God introduced two people who were tired of the almosts. Before we found each other, life had already given us beautiful children and experiences that gave us a humbling perspective on life. We both knew what heartbreak felt like. We knew what it was like to give love to the wrong people...to stay too long... to question our worth after relationships that left more pain than peace. There were nights filled with prayers, tears, healing and silent conversations with God asking, "Will real love ever find me?" Then one ordinary moment changed everything. (Just steps away from giving up) We met online through a dating app neither of us expected would change our lives - Hinge. From the very first conversation, it felt different. There was depth, honesty, transparency and comfort. We weren't trying to impress each other; we were simply being ourselves. Two people who had been through enough to see life through a different lens. Our first date lasted 10 hours. Ten hours... and somehow it still felt too short. We talked about everything - spirituality, purpose, healing, family, life, the things we survived, and the kind of love we prayed for. We found ourselves exploring the city together, discovering little pieces of each other along the way. Jazz lounges, bike rides downtown, speakeasies, laughter, music and good conversation. The world around us faded while two hearts slowly let their guards down. We realized we enjoyed the same simple things: living freely, loving deeply and appreciating life for what it truly is. God has answered our prayers bringing someone who made love feel safe instead of uncertain. Being together felt easy.... felt like Home. Three months later we got engaged. And now a year and a half later, hand in hand, we get to begin the most beautiful chapter of our lives: Forever. Becoming Brown Not just falling in love - becoming whole together.
