This is a beautiful train ride from Durango to Silverton on an old, 1800's train. Please note that this trip is a minimum of 4 hours each way. Please plan for a full day if you intend to go from Durango to Silverton and back.
This is a beautiful National Park in our area with ancient Native American ruins.
A local to Durango natural hot springs. This is the closest of the two main hot springs options in our area.
These hot springs are further away than Durango, but is the deepest hot spring in the world. Definitely worth checking out if you want to take the time to travel over there.
If you'd like to check out an old mine in Silverton, this is an easily accessible tour.
This is a great paved path that runs along the Animas River through Durango. You can hop on at many different points throughout town. Depending on when you're out on the trail you may even see the train on it's way up to or coming back from Silverton.
Durango is world-renowned for its trail access for both hiking and biking. Bike rentals can be secured from many bike shops throughout town and the trails typically are perfect in the fall.
Downtown Durango has many local restaurants and shops that are fun to make a day out of exploring.
Silverton is a historic mining town high in the San Juan Mountains. The downtown area is great to explore over the course of an afternoon to really feel the "old west" vibes.
