Travel Note
Our Wedding will take place in Fanna. Fanna is a small village, with a local bar and pizzeria. Nearby is the town of Maniago, a five-minute drive. Maniago has more options for hotels, food, and shopping. There is also a market every Monday in Maniago.
Flight
The closest airport to Fanna is Venice Marco Polo (VCE), or Venice Treviso (TSF). From here it is just a 1-1.25hr drive to Fanna/Maniago. Other options that we have tried in the past are: - Flying directly to Rome, and taking the train or a domestic flight to Venice (after spending some time in Rome!) - Flying to Munich, renting a car, and taking a few days for a beautiful road-trip through the Austrian Alps and Italian Dolomites - Flying to Venice via a connection in London, Paris, or Amsterdam *For those with the WestJet Mastercards and looking into using Companion Vouchers - you can only use these on Direct Flights. The best options are Calgary-Rome or Calgary-Paris, Calgary-London. *Lots of good options via Air Canada for those traveling from Toronto.
Rental Car
We always rent a car when spending time in Fanna. It's the most accessible way to get around to see the special places in the area!
Rental Car
Another good option for Car Rentals.
Train
Both Becky and Jeff have trained around Italy/Europe, and loved it. This site is a great resource for those wanting to use the Train System to get around. There is a station in Maniago (the neighbouring town, a 6-minute drive to Fanna), which you can get to from Venice, Milan, Rome, and cities outside of Italy too. We would recommend the train only for folks who are not hoping to explore the areas surrounding Fanna and Maniago, as they are best accessed by car. We would also recommend if you are planning to use the train, that you book your Hotel in Maniago. You can get around by Bus, but it is something we have not tried. Taxis/Cabs/Ubers in this area are practically non-existent, and if they are, quite costly!
Hotel
This is where our Ceremony and Reception will take place. Some rooms are reserved for the Wedding Party and Family. We have all rooms reserved for us until mid-February. It's best to book through Becky or Jeff, so get in touch if this is where you hope to stay! *Those staying here must check out by Friday the 5th.
Hotel
One of a few great options in Maniago.

Another good option in Maniago.

Another option in Maniago.
Hotel
There are many other Hotels, Bed and breakfasts, and Airbnbs surrounding Fanna. If you plan on renting a car and driving to and from Al Giardino on the day of the wedding, these could be great options. We recommend staying in Maniago if you want to use a shuttle service on the evening of the wedding, which will run between Al Giardino and the Maniago Town Center.
