There are tons of fantastic restaurants and wineries in the area. Here are a few we especially love. We recommend you check beforehand if they are open the day you want to visit, as if it is a Monday or Tuesday, they may not be! TRATTORIA DA IVANA & SECONDO ~ Becky & Jeff's favourite restaurant in the area! RIFUGIO VALLATA ~ Great food with mountain views, near the town of Barcis. RONCO MARGHERITA ~ A simple winery where you can go for tastings, perhaps after you've had a meal at Ivana & Secondo. RISTORANTE ALBERGO BAR CORONA 2.0 ~ If you're up for a drive, this restaurant has lovely views and delicious food. LA PRIMULA ~ For a special meal, we recommend La Primula in San Quirino. This restaurant has a Michelin star! PIZZERIA ANTICA COLTELLERIA ~ Located in the old knife factory in Maniago, this is Becky's favourite Pizzeria. PIZZERIA ALLA MINIERA ~ A great option, right in the heart of Maniago.
This town is one of our favourite places in the area! A beautiful mountain town, situated on a turquoise lake. Depending on the water level, jumping off the dock for a swim is highly recommended. You can walk or run the 6km loop around the lake, and then grab a Gelato or Caffè in town! If visiting between a Wednesday-Sunday, it's worth checking out Rifugio Vallata for a meal.
A beautiful, tiny mountain town, worth taking a walk around! You'll see traditional architecture as it was one of the few towns in this area unaffected by an earthquake in 1976.
If you want to hike, this is a great starting point to get to Campanile di Val Montanaia. There is an easier option that will provide a viewpoint of the "Bell Tower" and a more strenuous hike that gets you right to the base of it. It's a beautiful drive, and post-hike you can have a beer and a simple meal at the Rifugio.
The home of the 1956 Winter Olympics. This is a beautiful mountain town that is a great base to get to various Dolomite destinations, such as Lago di Sorapis, Lago Misurina, or the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo Hike. Lots of hiking in the area, and some cool mountain bars, like Masi Wine Bar Cortina.
Spilimbergo is a lovely town famous for its mosaic school. It's worth taking a walk to the Castle (Castello di Spilimbergo). Lots of good restaurants here too!
If you're wanting to spend some time at the beach, Bibione, Lignano, Jesolo, and Caorle are all good options!
For those wanting Venice vibes but with less tourists, Chioggia is worth checking out.
Dubbed "Prosecco Land" by Becky's Mum. You can hike (or bike!) the hills and stop into Vineyards along the way. Becky and Jeff haven't explored this area but it's high on their list!
A classic stop if visiting Italy. Charming, easy to walk around, lots of great food options! You may be able to see a concert in the Amphitheatre. If you go here, stop into Antica Bottega del Vino for delicious food and wine.
An absolute classic, everyone should go once!
We know they have e-bikes to rent, unsure about other bike options. Worth getting in touch ahead of time if this interests you!
For the golf-fanatics!
