Do you have any hotel recommendations?
Answer
There are numerous hotels in Bethesda within a short diving distance from Woodend. We’ve reserved some rooms at two hotels.

Do you have a hotel block for guests?
Answer
Please see the travel section of the website for links to the Hyatt Regency Bethesda and Marriott Bethesda Downtown at Marriott HQ. Be aware that the deadline for booking within the wedding block at the Hyatt is April 3, 2026 and at the Marriott it’s March 27, 2026.

How should I RSVP?
Answer
Please use the QR code on your printed invitation or go to the RSVP button on the home page or the RSVP tab of this website. Be sure to include your entrée choice when you RSVP. Deadline to RSVP is April 12th.

I have a food allergy. Can I make a special request?
Answer
Absolutely! Please state any food allergies or other dietary restrictions when you RSVP.

What is the dress code for the wedding?
Answer
Formal! Please note the ceremony will be outside in Spring, the dinner in a climate controlled tent attached to the historic mansion, and reception/dancing in the mansion as well. Should we experience some spring showers, we will be inside. So dress elegantly and comfortably.

Will there be alcohol?
Answer
Yup! There will be an open bar during cocktail hour and the reception.

Are kids welcome?
Answer
While we love your children, we have not planned accommodations for any extra plus ones, no matter how little. Feel free to make this a date night and book a babysitter!

Can I bring a plus one?
Answer
We are unable to accommodate additional plus ones. Please adhere to the number directed on your invitation. We can’t wait to see you!

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Answer
Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the ceremony, which starts at 4 PM.

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?
Answer
Woodend has amble parking. Remember to enter from Jones Mill Road and exit onto Brierly Road. Traffic through the site flows in one direction. Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Answer
The ceremony is planned to be held on the grounds in a grassy, unpaved area surrounded by trees. The cocktail hour will take place outdoors adjacent to and on the portico of the mansion. The dinner will occur in the climate-controlled tent over a flagstone patio which is attached to the mansion. Dancing and other entertainment will happen in a large room inside the mansion. There is a short walk (about 100 yds) between the outdoor ceremony site and the mansion. Should there be inclement weather, we will hold the ceremony in the climate controlled tent.

Will transportation be provided on wedding day?
Answer
Woodend is a 10-15 minute drive from downtown Bethesda. Uber and Lyft rides are readily available. When you request rides please use 8940 Jones Mill Road as the address for Woodend and tell the driver to enter from Jones Mill Road, not Brierly Road.

Are there any particular directions or maps to help with locating Woodend?
Answer
Woodend has 2 gates. The entrance gate is located on 8940 Jones Mill Rd. The exit gate is located on Brierly Road. Only use Google Maps or Waze, which directs you to the Jones Mill Road gate. Depending on the starting location, Apple Maps often leads drivers to the wrong entrance.
