We often thank God for the times in which He asked us to be apart, since we now see how exactly He was working to bring us together. And finally, He has brought us together for the rest of our lives. Ben comes from a big family, and Becci comes from Idaho. To have met would be to have fallen in love. Thank God we met. Ben grew up watching his grandparents make music and create theatre together, all side by side with their family. He knew that this was exactly what he wanted one day, and he prayed for something unique and special. He could never have realized just how special this would be. When Becci was young, she would ask her mom ‘Quick Questions’. One day, a series of questions from Becci to her mom went something like this: "Will he have brown hair?" Her mother said "Yes." Becci asked "Do I know him?" Her mom replied, "No." And finally, she asked "Will he be tall?" Her mom responded: "Yes." It was theatre that brought us together, but it was our faith that kept us together through every twist and turn. Early on, Ben had heard that Becci had recently been baptized at the Basilica in Newark. He mustered up the courage to ask Becci about this at a point where they only knew each other in a professional sense. But it began a deeply connected friendship, strung together by daily questions posed from one to the other. Finally, Ben confessed that he had developed feelings for Becci. She responded by saying, “I wouldn’t be against it.” Not long after, she confessed the same to him. There was a certain hesitance - for both of us - to believe that being loved by someone like this was actually possible, and difficulties surfaced. The chances of her coming all the way over from the other side of the country and running into him in this way was just too unlikely. Both of them, at the moment, were unfortunately in the midst of trying to escape the grips of past hardships, and so what at times seemed like a reason to be apart, quickly became one of the most beautiful reasons for being together. In March of 2025, God pulled us out of what previously held us, and instead helped us see the embrace of His arms that had been there all along. We were then securely in His grasp as we approached the Proposal Day - September 1st of this year. Only Joy filled the vacancies left by doubt and fear. No matter where the road has led, or where it continues to lead, we are walking it together, for the rest of our lives. We can’t wait for Chapter One to finally begin.
