Wedding Party

Meet our friends and family who are walking down the aisle with us!

Becca Hein

Bride

Allie has seen me at my best and at my worst, but chooses to love me the same-- she is a steadfast and passionate friend to many. Haley will lay down her life for anyone that is in need. She is not shy to lend a listening ear and encourages me to be the best that I can be. Rebecca is loyal, trustworthy, and puts thought behind everything she does. I never question if she is being genuine-- she truly cares about people deeply. Sarah is spunky and authentic as heck! She shows me consistently how to live a more bold and transparent life. Elizabeth Szilagyi is a powerhouse for Jesus and can make conversation with a wall! She never fails to make me feel known and sought after. Natalie love Jesus with her WHOLE heart. Her discipline and passion shows me what it looks like to honor Christ fully.

Max Griffis

Groom

Chase is a passionate friend who I can relate to on deep levels. He demonstrates the grace of Jesus to so many around him everyday. Wes demonstrates excellence by being honest and steadfast. He serves others often with a humble spirit. Adam has always stood out as caring and involved in my life. No matter how far apart we are, he has worked hard to be in my life. Teaugan is a man with Godly compassion that overflows. His willingness to serve those in dire need shows that he is selfless with his care. Justin is generous with his time and possessions. He is successful, but does not hold it over others, instead choosing to humble himself and care for others. Ben is always pushing towards his goals. I have watched him conquer obstacles with a kind attitude and a prevalent faith in Jesus.

Allie Hare

Maid of Honor

Spring 2017, Becca convinced me to be her roommate in a big, pink Navs house for the fall semester. We actually became roommates before expected during a Summer Training Program. That summer was full of a lot of growth and with that, a substantial amount of conflict. Becca approaches conflict in a way I had never experienced before, and it challenged me at first. Despite that, we learned how to love each other with grace and deep care for one another. That commitment has been the foundation for our friendship that is extremely unique in how we point each other towards Christ. We still live in that big, pink house, doing ministry, and sharing life. It’s been a true privilege to see her relationship with Max from the start. I’m so excited to be her Maid of Honor in this new season of growth!

Chase Helseth

Best Man

I met Max when he applied for a job as an admissions ambassador at CSU’s Office of Admissions.  I remember his joy and positivity in his interview and I thought “no way is this guy like this in real life.”  Turns out I was wrong, and Max’s passion and joy have been a huge blessing in my life.  We got to be friends as gave tours of CSU together.  It’s a privilege to know him and continue to work together, spreading the love of Jesus to college students.

Rebecca Carlson

Bridesmaid

Rebecca and I have been the two Rebecca’s from day one. This friendship is so close that when she was born one month before me, my parents asked the Heins if it was okay to still name me Rebecca as they knew we’d grow up together. Destined to be best buds from birth, we’ve been through it all. From childhood birthday parties, to choir and musicals, to New Years Eve parties. I always can’t wait to see her during our college breaks, and now I can’t wait for her to be by her side on one of the biggest days of her life!!

Justin Hein

Groomsman

I had the privilege of getting to know Max as the brother of Rebecca. It's been wonderful to go from "protective big brother" to "enthusiastic future brother-in-law" as I've gotten to know Max!

Haley Simpson

Bridesmaid

I met Becca freshman year at CSU through the Navigators. However, it was sophomore year when we started to develop a closer friendship. Whether it was through snowshoeing, coffee dates, or Bible study, I really enjoyed and admired how consistent and wise of a friend she was (& is!). Fast forward to junior year, Becca became a constant in my life – we started living together as well as leading a Bible study together. As roommates and co-leaders, we were able to learn how to better encourage each other, hold each other accountable, and help each other through some tough times. We still are roommates and Bible study co-leaders, but the thing I value most is our friendship. I am very excited to stand alongside Becca as she transitions into this next stage of her life!

Wesley Walthall

Groomsman

Every spring semester, the Navigators ministry at Colorado State hosts a 6-week course that meets on Monday evenings for Freshman called Joshua Team. The purpose of the course is to provide a space for freshmen in the ministry to learn applicable skills for their walks with the Lord from the sophomores. In my freshman year, Max was my small group leader for the course and asked me to meet with him early in the morning every week. Max became the first guy to disciple me regularly and now as I am a Senior it’s been great to look back and see that the two of us have been meeting together regularly ever since those days of Joshua Team.

Sarah Dafoe

Bridesmaid

Rebecca and I met in sixth grade, when our moms lead a small group for middle school girls. Over the next few years, we consistently grew closer over 8am coffee dates and sometimes frequent come-to-Jesus meetings about our identities in Christ. Our shared love of music, laughter, and honest conversation brought us together quickly and solidified a lasting friendship. Though we met in sixth grade, i often catch myself thinking that we’ve known each other for our whole lives.

Adam Afromsky

Groomsman

Max and I have been friends for the better half of almost a decade now. We met through mutual friends when we were just 14 years old, but my first real interaction with him was at a waterpark. We spent all day long at Wet N Wild sliding down the fastest water rides while eating delicious nachos and hot dogs for lunch. Ever since then, Max and I did everything together from going out to get lunch to New Years parties to watching each other play sports to supporting each other in the classroom. Max and I figured out that we have many things in common and love spending quality time with each other. Our friendship has become something I cherish and I will never forget that day at the waterpark!

Elizabeth Szilagyi

Bridesmaid

Meeting Rebecca was hilarious because we went from not knowing one another existed to living the exact same life in about a two week time period! My sophomore year and her junior year or high school we sang in the same choir, lead worship together at youth group, worked together at Chick-Fil-A, and then intentionally chose to hang out every single weekend (and honestly every day)! Our first real conversation was on a bus up to a youth retreat and she asked me what my greatest fear was! We then talked for 3 hours and I knew she was a keeper! I love you, Becks!!

Teaugan Eckstrom

Groomsman

I met Max the fall before I arrived at CSU, the following semester I was asked to be a part of a bible study he partook in as well, Max and I met during this study and decided to go get some coffee. While at coffee someone approached us asking what makes following God different from any other religion; Max responded with, “Its about the relationship I can have with God more than following some rules someone wrote thousands of years ago.” And since then we’ve enjoyed many dinners, coffees and other hangouts together talking about real, authentic life.

Natalie Zimmerman

Bridesmaid

I had the honor of meeting Becca at the Navigators Summer Training Program. I was locked out of my room but I was told one of my roommates should be arriving soon, so I just sat outside in the hallway on the ground waiting. Then came Becca down the hall and we had our first awkward encounter as I had to explain how I had locked myself out. We spent the rest of the night getting to know each other and talking about Jesus. Throughout the rest of the summer, we shared many more conversations sharing what God was teaching us, the struggles we were facing, and just our hearts. I’m so incredibly thankful for the Lord bringing Becca into my life, for giving me a friend set upon pursuing the Lord, and I’m so excited to see how God uses Max and Becca to bring His glory to this earth.

Ben Amundson

Groomsman

I met Max in a room full of strangers on my first day of work in the CSU admissions office. He was one of the first people to approach me with a smile and make me feel welcomed. Before long we both ended up out in DC with internships— we took on the city together and braved the metro, museums, and many (many) crowds of tourists. He quickly became my best friend for the best summer of my life. And the whole time we were in DC he talked about this girl named Becca who I wouldn’t meet until the next semester!
