It all started on a Friday night when Max asked Becca a simple question, "Would you want to go on a coffee date with me?" which was curiously met with Becca saying, "Can I pray about it?". Although this was not the response that either of them expected, it all worked out for the best. Becca and Max met for a coffee date that next week to discuss whether or not they should go on a coffee date... which ended in them scheduling their first REAL date. Max took Becca to a quaint lodge in Red Feather Lakes on January 28th, 2018. There they went ice skating on a frozen pond and were treated to a private meal in the cabin. This was then followed by hot chocolate and lots of chatting. After going on a few more dates, Max asked Becca to be his girlfriend on March 1st, 2018. The rest is history.
8 am on a Saturday morning, Max picked Becca up to go on an adventure-- something that was not uncommon for the two. Little did Becca know (well, she actually did know...) that this would be a life-changing adventure. They drove for a little over 3 hours, up and over Trail Ridge Road, to a secluded lake called Monarch Lake. They had gone on an exciting date about a year before in which they got caught in the rain, laughed more than they talked, and marveled over the stunning view. They pulled into the parking lot, grabbed the blankets and food, and continued on the trail. As they walked, they found a small cove that went into the lake. Becca and Max chose this spot to set up the picnic. Max had packed all of Becca's favorite foods and desserts. After eating, Max suggested that they walk around. Becca suspiciously got up because there was barely any ground to walk around on. They walked down to the edge of the water and Max turned to Becca and said, "Did you think I was going to propose today?". With tears starting to swell in Becca's eyes, she said "yes". He got on one knee and proposed on September 7th, 2019. The rest is history.
