Our Love Story

In September of 2015, we had both recently moved to Southern California (Ben for Grad school, Becca moving back home) and started attending Fellowship Monrovia church. By a strange miracle, Ben made a last minute decision to join a community group that was different than the rest of his grad school friends. The group he joined happened to be the same group I (Becca) joined. The first night of the group, Ben sat right next to me and had a causal conversation... For that next year and a half, we were friends who supported each other and helped one another in the midst of the struggle to find friendship and community. We spend hours talking about the deep things of life, faith, family, and pain. We saw countless movies and went to church together every week. Finally, in December of 2016, we decided to give a real romantic relationship a try! We had both been apprehensive for fear of losing one another as the deep friends we had become. Since that moment, sitting on a beach in Carmel, CA watching the sunset and talking about what it would mean to be together, we have been pretty inseparable! Being together was natural and beautiful. We've spent the last two and a half years integrating our lives together, creating beautiful memories of laughter and tears, and growing into a couple we are both so proud to be a part of. Our love has grown into a deep knowing of one another and commitment to accepting each other in every moment. On September 28th, 2018, we and some friends left for Carmel, CA for a second time in our relationship to celebrate Ben's birthday. That evening, at sunset, I went for a walk and ended up at the very same beach Ben and I had first committed to being together. And there he was looking handsome as ever. It was a perfect sunset. A perfect moment. Ben got on one knee and talked about all the ways he knew he wanted forever. He slipped the ring on... then I surprised him and proposed back! We are honored to share our wedding day with you all.
