How We Met

It was meant to be...

Brady and Taylor had mutual friends, but they actually met through Instagram. Taylor posted a picture of herself in front of a fish mural in Oklahoma City, and a few hours later Brady commented "You're beautiful" under the photo. They started talking, and found they had a lot in common. The next day, Brady and Taylor went to Southlake Park in Oklahoma City. They swung on the swings, slid down the slides, and then went to Sonic for some lunch. They sat in Taylor's car and ate, talking about their interests, hobbies, and families. The next weekend, they went camping at Mount Scott near Lawton. That trip sealed their love for being around the other, and no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't stay away.

"I love you"

And then it was certain...

Taylor was the first to say "I love you". About a month after they first met, they were at Brady's house, sitting on the couch, playfully bickering at one another when Brady said "Why do you hate meeeeee?" Taylor blurted out "Actually it's the opposite." Brady seemed a little confused and asked "What does that mean?" Taylor could feel her face turning red. She didn't want to scare Brady off by saying it too early, but her gut told her to say it. So she did. "I love you."

The Proposal

March 30, 2019

Brady and Taylor had just gotten back from a camping trip at Mount Scott. It was around 11 pm, they were laying in bed, watching Archer. Taylor remembered Brady had gotten her a present, so she asked if she could open it. Brady didn't seem too excited about her opening the present, but he obliged. It was a book Brady had designed online. It was called "All The Reasons I Love You". It was the story of Taylor and Brady, and was filled with cute little animated characters of themselves. The pages said things like "I love that you accept me just how I am" and "I love how funny you get when you're angry". The second to last page Brady wrote himself. "Taylor Brianne Hibbitts, you are the love of my life and I can't imagine my life without you. You are the most amazing thing that has every happened to me and I don't know what I ever did to deserve you, but most of all, I want to spend the rest of my life with you." Taylor turned to the last page, and it showed Brady's animated character down on one knee with a box in its hand. The caption read "Taylor, will you marry me?" The ring he was proposing with was taped to the page, which was Taylor's Nana's ring.
