It is about a 2.5–3 hour drive from the SJO airport to Manuel Antonio, depending on traffic. The route is very scenic, so we recommend traveling during the day if possible! There are plenty of convenient stops along the way for bathrooms, food, and drinks. The halfway point is Costa Rica's famous crocodile bridge, a definite must see! It's our go-to stopping point. For a quicker option, there is also a small regional airport in nearby Quepos. Flights from San José through airlines such as SANSA take about 30 minutes and offer beautiful views as well.
