Another absolute favorite (pic from 2017!). The views are beautiful, the space relaxed, and the wines just excellent. Their rose offerings are worth a trip alone.
Hye Meadow Winery
A super special place with some excellent wines - they aren't afraid to try something new but also make the classics well. And a beautiful backyard - that's Mike D and B sharing a bottle!

Amid significant competition—THE BEST VIEW we've found. And the wines, just wow. Now offering a variety of food options as well. Be sure to call ahead or reserve online.

Beautiful, relaxed space right off the highway. We love their wine+light bites pairing menu, and their upstairs covered patio.
Pedernales Cellars
To sound like a local, call it "PURR-deh-nah-less." This one's been around a while, and we love it. Front patio holds amazing memories for us.
Lost Draw Cellars
The very first Texas wine we ever tasted, first Texas winery we ever visited. It was great then and keeps getting better. Coming here feels like coming home!
Altstadt Brewery
A very impressive brewery right on the threshold of downtown Fredericksburg. Recommend the Kolsch for sure. But you might as well try them all.
West End Pizza Co.
A downtown go-to. Excellent pizza, cold beer. Sit on the patio!
Hondo's On Main
Downtown spot for food and live music. A favorite for Tom & Barbara (hence the handsome models in the picture!).
Pecan Street Brewing
Great spot for grub and beer in Johnson City! We recommend (of course) the pizza.
Crowson Wines
Super special place - by appointment only, but for some bowl-you-over amazing wines and a deep conversation about wine and winemaking with the winemaker himself!
Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que
The first time B took E to stay in Kerrville, they met Tom and Barbara here. E has still never had better BBQ. But she grew up in Dallas, so don't hold it against her.
Basement Brewers of Texas
Kerrville's best brewery. Crazy variety, great vibe, good beer. We were in Kerrville for only 4 days last Thanksgiving and we came here twice.

Willow City Loop Bluebonnets
A Dexter family tradition and forever resting place of E's papa, Bill Dexter, photographer extraordinaire, who knew exactly how to capture these bluebonnet beauties on film.
Z's Wood Fired Pizza
Fantastic pizza, great beer selection, and - if you time it right - live music. Sit at the bar if you can.
Tusculum Brewing Company
Trust us. The storefront looks a bit like an antique shop but this beer is fresh. Dark horse for best brewery in Boerne but we'd take those odds.
The Dodging Duck Brewhaus & Restaurant
The locals love it, and we absolutely see why. All of the flagship beers are delicious and the rotating brews are amazing too. The food is also spectacular. Can we move here?
Cibolo Creek Brewing Co.
Great brewery right on Main Street. Porch swing seats a big plus.
Bending Branch Winery
Stopped here on our way from San Antonio to Kerrville with Greg & Carmen many years ago, and remains a sneaky favorite. Try the cab franc, if they're pouring it!
Banger's Sausage House & Beer Garden
What, you weren't planning to go to Rainey? Live music, more beers than you can count, and a big enough space that you can enjoy it. What's not to love?

An E, Al, Necia discovery on a wedding scouting trip. Great brews in a cool place, and tons of variety. When can we go back?!
