There are several great towns on Whidbey Island with accommodations within driving distance of the venue. See the "Travel & Accommodations" tab for specific hotel, vacation rental, Airbnb, and Vrbo options! Bayley created folders for different Airbnb/Vrbo options based upon party size -- any options listed on there are within proximity of the wedding venue. If you’re hoping to stay on the island, here are a few nearby areas to look when booking: -Clinton (~5 minutes from the venue) -Langley (~10 minutes from the venue) -Freeland (~15 minutes from the venue) -Greenbank (~20 minutes from the venue) -Coupeville (~30 minutes from the venue) -Oak Harbor (~45 minutes from the venue) You can also stay off-island and take the ferry across: -Mukilteo (~20-minute ferry ride to Clinton - see FAQ about the summer ferry lines!) -Anacortes (~1.5 hours driving to the venue via Deception Pass Bridge) If you plan to stay on Whidbey, we recommend booking as early as possible since accommodations can fill up quickly! Note: We recommend avoiding accommodations on Camano Island. While it may look close on a map and appear in Airbnb or Vrbo searches, getting to Whidbey Island from Camano can take longer than expected.
On a typical day, the Clinton/Mukilteo ferry runs from both terminals every 30 minutes and the sailing takes about 20 minutes. You can drive onto the ferry, OR you can walk onto the ferry! If you’re staying in Mukilteo or traveling to the island the day of the wedding, it’s important to plan ahead for ferry traffic. The Mukilteo → Clinton ferry is a quick ride (about 20 minutes), but during busy times there can be long lines to board. Typical high-traffic times are: -Thursday–Saturday: long lines getting onto the island starting around 11:00 AM -Sunday: long lines leaving the island starting around 11:00 AM During these times, ferry wait times can be 2–3 hours, so we recommend giving yourself extra travel time if you're crossing the ferry then. If your schedule allows, arriving earlier in the morning or later in the evening can sometimes help avoid the longest lines.
