Many also love to take the ferry boat over to Isla Mujeres!  Once there, you can rent a golf cart to see the island, do some shopping for cheaper souvenirs, try some authentic Mexican food/drinks, or just walk around! 
If you would like to do this, the resort can help you book a taxi over to the ferry (10 minute ride each way).  It is then about a 20-30 minute ferry ride over to the island!  I HIGHLY recommend this for shopping - the resort shopping is $$$!
