Among Rancho Mi Chaparrita’s other adventures is a jungle canopy zipline tour. With 13 lines and four suspension bridges throughout the jungle, you’ll spend about two hours zipping through the treetops high above the ground. Believe it or not, Rancho Mi Chaparrita’s trip even comes with a free tequila tasting! This fun excursion costs $85 per person (kids under 11 are $65).
Hiking monkey mountain near Sayulita Monkey mountain, near Sayulita is considered sacred to the Huichol Indians and is one of the most distinctive features of the surrounding landscape. Head south from Sayulita on the road to Punta Mita. At the 5kms. marker take a right towards Playa Patzcuaro. There are no signs. About 1km. down this road you will come to a ranch. Just beyond and over the river the road splits with the main track straight ahead leading to Playa Patzcuaro while an unused road will take you south (left) from here through the jungle to a trail leading to the top of Monkey Mountain. Make sure to pack food and plenty of water for this 4-hour Sayulita hike.
Hop on a trusty steed and ride through the jungle as well as along the beach to explore even more of Sayulita. Rancho Mi Chaparrita offers both long and short rides at different times of the day, so you could go for a shady afternoon ride under the trees or even a sunset ride along the coastline. A short tour lasting an hour and twenty minutes costs $50, while a long tour of two hours and twenty minutes costs $90.
We strongly recommend to bring your own snorkel gear to Sayulita. However, limited rentals can be found at beach stands and village shops. Do not snorkel at the main Sayulita beach. See below for best places to snorkel: Punta Sayulita- the best snorkeling. The hidden beaches along the south point of the bay can be reached when walking on low tide or by kayak. Here you find several small sandy beaches separated by large granite boulders. Playa Los Muertos- safe swimming beach for families. Carriztos Beach- from the Plaza head south towards Punta de Mita, make a right turn on Niños Heroes. Proceed to fork in the road stay left.
