Jerry & Katie were both living in Coronado, CA for years - only a block and a half apart - never crossing paths until June 18, 2019 at Danny's Beach Bar & Grill. They played the best of seven games of pool; Katie won of course. They instantly clicked on their beliefs, goals, pasts, shared passions for a good IPA, coffee, family and sports. The day after they met, Katie told a close friend and coworker, "I sound like a weirdo, but I'm pretty sure I met my future husband last night." After spending every minute they could together in between Jerry's deployment work-ups and training events, it became pretty evident that they make a great team and wanted to spend forever together.

Jerry and Katie recently moved into their first home together in Point Loma after weeks and weeks of DIY renovations. Jerry picked up the gorgeous ring he chose for Katie the morning of October 10, 2020, the same day they had their new flooring installed. Later that day, after four trips to Home Depot, painting, and cutting baseboards, Jerry called Katie into the living room. As tears began to run down Jerry's face, Katie (concerned) asked "Why are you crying? If you don't like the new floor we can change it..." He told her now that they have the house, the projects are coming along and they are about to move in, there's only one thing left. Katie blacked out around this time. Jerry got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. After lots of crying and mushy stuff, Katie of course said, "yes!"
