Please book your ferry and hotel/Airbnb AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. Summer is Catalina's busy season, so spaces on ferries, in hotels, and in Airbnb's fill up early. We recommend everyone book their accommodations ASAP to avoid any issues.
You can fly into Los Angeles (LAX), Long Beach (LGB), or Orange County (SNA). These all have ferry ports conveniently close to catch a ferry to the island. See "Travel + Lodging" section for more details.
The Catalina Express ferry service offers ferries periodically throughout the day from San Pedro and Long Beach, and the Catalina Flyer offers a morning ferry from Newport, all close to airports. The ferry ride is about 1 hour. We suggest arriving to the ferry at least 15 minutes prior to departure, probably 30 minutes prior if you want to get the best seat. They have snacks, drinks, and bathrooms on board.
Definitely not! Avalon, Catalina is small and very walkable, and we will have a bus that brings you from your hotel to the wedding venue on Saturday. They also offer bike, Ebike, and golf cart rentals if you want to explore the island on wheels! They do have paid parking available at all the ferry ports, so you can drive there if desired, or each port is a short Uber/Lyft/Waymo (shoutout Nat) ride away from an airport.
All official wedding events will be adults only. Thank you for understanding!
Catalina in July is typically a beautiful 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit during the day, 60s at night. Plan to dress accordingly, with specific attire for events as follows: - Welcome Drinks: Island Vibes - Beach Party: Beach Casual and Swimwear - R+R Surprise Event: "R"-themed costume. Please come dressed as anything that starts with the letter "R"! - Wedding: Beach Formal
