Traverse City Airport is about 45 minutes from downtown Leland. Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids is about 3 hours from downtown Leland. Detroit airport is around 4.5 hours away. While Leland itself is a walkable city, we recommend a rental car to explore the quaint neighboring towns in Leelanau County.
There are not ridesharing services in Leland. However, our immediate families and a lot of people traveling from Ohio will have cars. Please reach out to us if renting a car is not possible for you, we can try to come up with solutions.
We'd love you to wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable + beautiful. For the wedding please wear cocktail attire, we recommend avoiding thin heels as guests will walk on grass to go between the ceremony + reception spaces. Don't forget your dancing shoes!
Weather in Leland this time of year is typically warm during the day and gets chilly at night. You can expect mid-high 70s during the day and low 60s in the evening. However, it's fall in upper Michigan so this could always change drastically.
Yes! The ceremony, cocktail hour, and portion of the reception will be outside to some degree.
Great question! There is something so incredibly beautiful about Northern Michigan, whether it's a walk around the lake or popping into a winery you will not go wrong. Be sure to check out our "Things To Do" tab for the names of spots that we really love.
While we love all your kids, this is an adult-only weekend. Only a few kids from our immediate family will be in attendance. If you'd like to bring the whole family to Leelanau please feel free, but we ask that you please find child care during our planned events.
The answer is yes! Whether you want to rent one for the Welcome party or just the weekend. There is a place called the Narrows Yacht Club, which I put a link to under our 'Things To Do' and 'Travel' section. This is a convenient place, because the boats you rent are already in the water on Lake Leelanau.
