Joy: Barry and I first met a few times our sophomore year in college through mutual friends. We never dated but I always had a crush on him. Fast forward to 6 years later (post college). We had a mutual friend that moved to Raleigh, NC for a job and we would hang out from time to time. I asked her about Barry and if she knew if he was single? She chuckled and then proceeded to tell me that he was living here in Raleigh and that he may be still single. I boasted with excitement and curiosity in my head wondering how he is these days. Two weeks later I see both our mutual friend and Barry at church sitting two rows behind us. Barry: After church, we caught up for a little bit and I asked her if I could take her out for lunch. She says yes with excitement. We went to lunch and talked for hours. It was like an instant connection. Our second date, I took her fishing where she caught her first fish. We dated for about a year in a half and unfortunately we broke up for about 2 years, but I missed her and being away from her help me to see that she was the one. I prayed that God would somehow bring her back into my life and He did. We dated for a year before I proposed and I told her if we continue to be serious I want to propose by next year. As you know, I popped the question on August 18, 2018 and she said YES! And the rest is history! We are so grateful to share this blessed and important day with our friends and family!
