Hotels in San Francisco can be expensive, however we have secured a block of rooms at the very reasonably priced and highly rated Hotel Griffon on the Embarcadero. We think it is a very good location and a very good deal. The only negative we can say about it is that the rooms are on the small side but we would be hard pressed to find better value. SFO is the closest airport to the city but flying into Oakland or San Jose is possible if that works better for your travel plans

San Francisco has a wide range of Airbnb offerings which may provide an attractive alternative to hotels.. We live in Mission Dolores and the wedding venue is in the Mission. Although scenic with beautiful bay views neighborhoods such as Fisherman's Wharf, Cow Hollow, Russian Hill, the Marina, and Pacific Heights would be a little further away from the wedding venue. Closer would be the Mission, the Castro, SOMA, Nob Hill, Hayes Valley, Noe Valley, Cole Valley, The Haight, Union Square, and the Embarcadero.
