Nope! We’re already tying the knot in June, so the August event is purely a celebration — no ceremony, no chairs in rows, no wondering if you’re supposed to stand or sit, and no awkward “Is this the part where we clap?” moments. Just show up ready to enjoy light appetizers, drinks, music, lake views, and a good time!
The party runs from 6–10 PM (or until they tell us to leave), which gives you the whole day to explore Manistee, nap, beach, snack, golf, or wonder why Lake Michigan is somehow colder in August than it should be.
Feel free to join the celebration at any time! Running late? Don't sweat it! We'll be here from 6PM-10PM so come and go as you please any time between then.
No! Please wear whatever make you comfortable. Think "beach casual." Nothing formal! We do suggest shoes that won’t sink into the sand or make you question your life choices.
Yes! Well, sort of. We have rented the Lions Pavilion at 1st Street Beach for the event. There are grassy areas in addition to the beach. There will be sand. There will be wind. Don't say we didn't warn you!
Generally warm, sunny, and breezy — the perfect lake‑day vibe. That said, Lake Michigan loves to surprise us, so we suggest bringing a light layer (jacket, sweatshirt) for the evening just in case it wants to keep us humble.
Yes—plenty of snacks! We’ll have a variety of appetizers available to graze on until they're gone. This won’t be a full sit-down dinner, so we recommend eating beforehand and then coming ready to snack, sip, and mingle.
Yes! We'll have a selection of beverages available, including alcohol. If you plan on enjoying more than one (alcoholic) drink and foresee a possible case of wastey pants, please feel free to bring your own beer (BYOB) so the party can keep going strong!
If you're brave enough to take a dip in Lake Michigan, we encourage you to bring your swimsuit! We also suggest bringing beach towels or beach blankets and a warm sweatshirt or jacket for when the sun sets. We will have some alcoholic drinks but please BYOB/alcohol if you plan on partaking in in many throughout the evening!
Please visit the "Travel & Accommodations" page for lodging recommendations.
There is ample parking in the area with a large parking lot right next to the Lions Pavilion.
Yes! We will have many beach games to enjoy around the area and music if you feel like cutting a rug.
Yes! Pets are welcome, but they must be leashed at all times. If your pet is chill, beach‑friendly, and won’t try to steal any food, we’d love to meet them! P.S.- There is a dog park located a short walk from the event pavilion and they're allowed on the beach!
Absolutely — kids are welcome! However, we cannot guarantee they won’t end up with pockets full of sand.
