Please note the ferry schedule when making your flight reservations. For example, don't book a flight that gets to Wilmington after 10pm because you won't make the last ferry to BHI which is 11pm. Also, don't book an early morning departure flight on Sunday because the earliest you'll be able to get to Wilmington airport is about 9am. We recommend booking afternoon arrival flights and afternoon departure flights. https://www.baldheadisland.com/island/ferry/ Also keep in mind, most homes on Bald Head Island have a 3pm check in and 10am check out. The Sunday morning trams fill up very quickly so schedule your trams as soon as possible.
If you plan to bring groceries to the island, please pack them in large tupperware bins with secure lids and be sure to label them with your name, contact info, house you're staying at. These will be loaded onto the dollies along with your luggage and then transported onto the ferry, so securely taping the lids closed is a good idea as well. If you want to avoid bringing groceries to the island, there is a grocery store on the island called the Maritime Market. It is open Monday - Sunday from 8am - 8pm. It is a full grocery with beer & wine, but no liquor. Liquor will need to be purchased on the mainland and brought over if you so desire.
The Bald Head Island Club & The Shoals Club offer many options for dining, however both require a temporary membership to be able to access their dining facilities. Information on obtaining the temporary memberships are available with your accommodation booking. Outside of those two clubs, there are several establishments that do not require memberships, including: - Jules Salty Grub & Island Pub - Lulu's BBQ Shack - Delphina's Cantina - Sandpiper Ice Cream & Coffee - Will o the Wisp Wine Bar - Maritime Market Deli - Jailhouse Provisions
