FAQs

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

We respectfully request an adults-only wedding day reception. We hope you understand and can still join us on our special day. For out of town family, if this would prohibit you from attending, please reach out to the bride and groom to coordinate childcare. Adults and children alike are welcome at the Bull City Welcome Dinner on Friday and the Sunday Send-Off with the Byrds.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please be prompt!!! Plan to be at the venue between 6pm and 6:15pm to allow enough time for seating. The wedding procession will begin at 6:30pm on the dot.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Bust out that cocktail dress, break in the heels, and watch youtube videos on how to tie a tie because it's cocktail attire for our wedding day! That means no jeans, no t-shirts, no tuxes, no ballgowns but rather that sweet spot in the middle where you look good and feel good.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Check the Registry Tab of this website. You won't see fine china, pots and pans, or bedding requests. Michael and Jen already have all the "things". The couple is requesting guests consider contributing to one of their wedding funds in their registry to assist them in future endeavors whether it is a honeymoon, a house project, or anything else that life can throw into the mix. We appreciate it.

Question

What is the easiest way to get to and from the wedding venue?

Answer

The wedding venue is less than 10 minutes from downtown Durham. There is a large parking lot at the wedding venue where guests are permitted to leave their cars overnight if needed. Uber and Lyft are readily available and safe options especially for the end of the night.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have reserved hotel blocks. Please look at the Travel tab of the website for details and directions for booking. Durham also has many options for Airbnb, VRBO, and other rentals. We encourage you to book your travel and accommodations early because October is a popular time to travel to North Carolina.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

A date or guest is indicated on your invitation. If there are questions about it, please call the couple.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Jen and Michael have made sure that there are vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy-free options for the cocktail hour and buffet, but special requests can also be made. Please call the couple if there is a dietary concern.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

The RSVP tab will be added to the wedding website 3-4 months prior to the wedding after the invitations are sent out. All RSVPs will be done through the wedding website.
