Since Matt and I met he’s been a constant in my life. He has this perfect balance of sarcasm, humor, and protectiveness—whether I need an ear, advice, or just a smack to the back of the head to set me straight, Matt is there He’s funny, big-hearted, and one of those friends you know will always show up, no matter what. Having him as my Mister of Honor was an easy choice; he’s been there from the start of Charles and me, and he continues to be one of the most important people in both our lives.

Storytelling Sage Carlos is my big brother—one of them—but he’s always been the guy I could count on for anything. He’s been there through it all: the good, the bad, and the completely ridiculous. Whether I need advice, a sounding board, or just someone to shoot the breeze with, Carlos shows up. Always. What means the most to me is that he’s never wavered. He checks in, makes sure I’m okay, and if I’m not, he’s the first to help—or at least steer me in the right direction with a story, a laugh, or a little perspective. He’s funny, loyal, and the kind of person who always reaches out to the people he cares about—especially family. Having him by my side means everything.

Bonus Rock of Stability Riley is one of those people you can talk to for minutes and feel like you’ve known forever. From the very beginning, everything about our friendship felt easy and natural. She quickly became a constant in my life and in our circle. And trust me, there’s never a shortage of laughter when Riley’s around. Her friendship means the world to me. She supports me, Charles, and our girls with such open-hearted love, and I’m so grateful to have her standing by my side.

Basic Training Battle Buddy Alex and I met in basic training, and we got close quickly—going through that kind of challenge together tends to do that. After basic, we went our separate ways for tech school, but we reconnected not long after when we got stationed at the same base for our first assignment. We spent six years at that base together—working, growing, and building a friendship that’s stuck with me ever since. Even if we don’t talk all the time now, when we do, it’s like nothing has changed. Alex has always been solid, loyal, and one of those people who just gets it. I’m lucky to have him as a friend—and honored to have him standing with me.

Calling her my hairstylist doesn’t quite cut it (pun intended)—she’s a force of nature wrapped in charm, wit, and some of the best advice you’ll ever hear (whether you asked for it or not). It was only a matter of time before she became more than just someone who made me look good—she became someone who made me better. Rosie is the kind of person who can go from cracking you up at a bar to owning the room at a formal event without missing a beat. She’s honest, hilarious, incredibly wise, and not afraid to keep you in check—all while keeping your highlights on point. Together, we’ve dreamed up a PI business called Assumption Junction, where we don't actually investigate... we just assume everyone is guilty. Because of course we did. That’s just the kind of weird, wonderful energy Rosie brings into my life—and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Nickname Distributor-in-Chief Pac was my Tech Sgt when I got to Minot, but he quickly became more than just a supervisor—he became a mentor, and more importantly, a friend. He’s been a constant source of guidance, not just in my career, but in everyday life too. And along the way, he made sure to build up my resume of nicknames—whether I asked for them or not. Pac is the kind of person who will always go to bat for you if he believes in you. He’s got your back when you’re doing things right, and he’s not afraid to call you out when you’re not. He’s kind, funny, tough when he needs to be, and someone I truly trust. He’s one of those rare people you want in your corner—even if, according to Val, he’s sometimes a bit of a sissy. (Love you, man.)

Quiet Cheerleader Extraordinaire Hilary and I met through work—she was technically my supervisor, but that label didn’t stand a chance against the friendship that followed. Over time, we leaned on each other through both the chaos and calm, building a bond rooted in trust, support, and a shared ability to never run out of things to talk about. Hilary is the kind of person who may not always be front and center, but you always feel her presence—steadfast, encouraging, and full of heart. She’s constantly cheering you on, whether you realize it or not, and she’ll do whatever she can to help you succeed or smile (often both). Her big heart, quiet strength, and genuine spirit make her such a blessing in my life. I’m so lucky to have her on my team—and by my side for this adventure.

Co-Op Campaign Partner for Life Jeremy and I became friends while I was stationed in Wyoming, and what brought us together—besides great conversations—was a shared love of gaming, golf, and animals. It didn’t take long for us to click, and even after I moved to a new base, we kept that friendship going strong. I had the honor of being a groomsman in his wedding, and now I’m proud to have him standing with me in mine. We still talk regularly and always make time to team up for a game (or three). Jeremy’s a solid friend, a loyal teammate, and someone I know will always have my back—on the battlefield and in real life.

She’s helpful, dependable, and has that take-charge spark that shines brightest when you need it most. Emma is such an important part of our crew—and I’m so lucky to have her in my life and standing by my side.

Hype Man with a Gym Membership Mani and I got to know each through work, and it didn’t take long before we became close. What started with early morning workouts turned into a strong, consistent friendship, and once we ended up working in the same space, we were pretty much inseparable. Mani is the kind of friend who truly shows up—he sees the effort you put in and is always there to support you, push you, and have your back. He’s genuine, loyal, and one of the first people to cheer you on when it matters most. He’s also always ready for a good time, whether it’s a game night at the house or heading out for some friendly competition. Mani brings energy, loyalty, and a lot of laughs, and I’m glad to have him by my side.

Original Matchmaker There’s really no better person to marry us than Dez—partly because she’s done it before and knows what she’s doing… but mostly because without her, this wedding wouldn’t even be happening. She’s the reason we met in the first place, and she’s been cheering us on ever since. Dez is a big part of our friend group, and someone who means the world to both of us. She’s always there—ready to lend a hand, listen when we need her, or just hang out and be part of the chaos. She’s seen us grow individually and as a couple, and she even changed Val's last name in her phone to Borden way before it was official. Talk about manifesting. We’re so grateful to have her not only by our side, but leading this day. Her support, her heart, and her ability to put her own meaningful spin on everything are exactly why we couldn’t imagine anyone else guiding us into this next chapter.
