It was the end of July 2013 when my friend Shayla and I arrived to Venice Beach and sat at the bar in Danny's restaurant. I told her out of nowhere that I was going to meet my husband here. She rolled her eyes at me and told me to just to shut up and drink my drink. A year later and I'm now working at Danny's and had just celebrated my birthday the night before with some co-workers. I was debating whether or not I should give up my shift and go to the beach instead. Just one block away. My friend Sarah said I should just go to work because it might be a busy night, which meant more tips, so I took her advice and went. About an hour into my shift, I was cleaning up some tables when a this nice looking guy walked in looking a bit confused. I asked him, “ table for one?” And with the sweetest smile he said "yes". I brought him over to my section, showed him to his seat and gave him his menu. He was really respectful and very polite and we struck up a conversation until I got insanely busy and forgot about the "nice looking guy" in the corner of the restaurant. After apologizing repeatedly, I gave him a beer on the house, which he was extremely thankful for. He paid his tab and hung around, chatting until the end of my shift. Afterwards we went across the street to the Townhouse (my favorite prohibition bar) upon my invitation and the rest is history....
