Travel & Accomodation

Hotel

Laticastelli Country Relais

1 Via Laticastelli Toscana 53040, Italy Our beautiful venue for the weekend! This is where our welcome dinner, ceremony, and reception will take place. We've placed a room block on all accommodations at the venue to ensure guest convenience and safety. We can comfortably host up to 70 guests on-site and there are additional close by accommodations. To optimize the number of guests that are able to stay at the venue, Alex and I will be handling bookings starting in March. Rooms are guaranteed for check-in at 3:00pm on Sunday Sept 6th. You are welcome to enjoy the Borgo's common areas, pool, and bar upon arrival. Check-out time is 11:00am on Wednesday Sept 9th.

Flight

Fly Into Rome, Florence, Pisa or Perugia

Aeroporto di Firenze-Peretola in Florence, Pisa International Airport (Galileo Galilei), and Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport in Rome are one, two, and three hours outside of the venue, respectively. There is also the option to fly into San Francesco d'Assisi Airport in Perugia. This location is about an hour from the venue but operates on a limited flight schedule. All are great options, but ultimately where you fly into will depend on whether you plan to explore different areas of Italy before the festivities begin. Smaller airports like Florence tend to be a bit pricier but will eliminate the need to take an extra train or two. *Keep in mind that there are often 15-30 minute express trams that run between airports and major train stations. Tickets can be purchased directly at the airport. Consider the extra time needed when booking rail tickets after your flights! Trams: Leonardo Express (Rome Airport --> Rome Stazione Termini) (14 euro) Line T2 (Florence Airport --> Firenze Santa Maria Novella) (2 euro) PisaMover (Pisa Airport --> Pisa Centrale) (7 euro) We highly recommend booking your flights and trains/rental cars at least 6 months before your arrival to ensure the best rate and peace of mind.

Train

ItaliaRail

Trains are inexpensive and run frequently between Rome’s Stazione Termini and Siena's Stazione de Siena as well as between Florence's Santa Maria Novella and Siena's Stazione de Siena. There are also trains from Pisa Centrale train station to Siena and from Perugia Railway Station to Siena, though these journeys do require one or two changes during the ride. If you are taking a train at any point during your travels, we recommend being at the stations early. Train tickets can be booked through the ItaliaRail website.

Rental Car

Sunny Cars, Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Etc.

You can rent directly from any service at most airports. Hertz, Avis, Europcar, etc. are all great options. Sunny Cars is also a good option that has free cancellation and insurance included. If renting and returning to Florence, Knowleggi SRL, is easy and the owner is thorough in explaining traffic laws! Confirm that you are renting an automatic before booking unless you know how to drive stick shift. Insurance is required in Italy when renting a car, so add any additional coverage at the initial time of booking to secure the best rate. An International Driver's Permit is required for those that wish to rent a car in Italy. You can easily obtain one for about $20 through AAA. Please don't go without one! TAXI / Ride Sharing

Taxis in Siena are fairly expensive and can range in price from 70 to 100 euros for a short 30-minute drive, especially when venturing into the more rural areas. There is a taxi stand at Siena's main train station, and cash is usually required. Uber and similar apps do not exist in Italy. The "Uber" service seen locally is actually a premium service called NCC (Private Drivers). These must be booked well in advance because demand far exceeds supply. We recommend looking into car rental.
