FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The vibe is garden cocktail—think festive, polished, and ready to dance under the stars. Linen suits, flowy dresses, bold prints, fun accessories—this is New Orleans, after all! We’ll be mostly outdoors on grass and brick, so skip the stilettos and wear shoes you can second line in.

Question

When should i arrive?

Answer

We love New Orleans time… just not today. Arrive 2:00–2:15 PM so you’re seated and ready when we start right at 2:30 PM.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then laissez les bons temps rouler. If not, we’re keeping it intimate, and we appreciate you respecting that.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We want this night to feel like Bourbon Street after bedtime—grown-up, relaxed, and a little bit magical. Plus, we know how hard parents work—consider this your hall pass to eat, drink, and be merry (without cutting anyone’s chicken nuggets or exploding juice boxes) Only close family kiddos in the wedding party —but they’ll be whisked off for bedtime shortly after. All other guests, please join us for an adults-only celebration!

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Is the sky blue?

Question

What’s the weather like?

Answer

April is one of the best times to be in New Orleans - warm days, breezy evenings, and everything in bloom. Highs are usually in the 70s–80s, with low humidity (by NOLA standards). That said, the weather here has a flair for the dramatic - so check back in closer to the date.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you keep phones and cameras tucked away during the ceremony. We’ve hired an amazing photographer to capture every second (and every tear). The rest of the night? Snap away, second line, and selfie to your heart’s content. But for the “I do’s,” let’s all be fully present—New Orleans-style.

Question

Will there be food?

Answer

Come hungry! We’ll be serving up local favorites (yes, there will be beignets), plus plenty of options to suit dietary needs. It'll be served buffet style so you can try a lil bit of all the NOLA classics.

Question

Is there a registry?

Answer

Your presence is the best present—but if you’re feeling generous, our registry is here on our Zola site, and we’d love your help with our honeymoon fund!

Question

Will there be dancing?

Answer

Baby, this is New Orleans—of course there will be dancing. We’ve got a rocking DJ , a brass band with a second line, and a dance floor just waiting for you to cut loose. Whether you’re busting moves or just swaying with a cocktail in hand, come ready to let your soul shine and your shoes fly.

Question

What’s a second line band?

Answer

A second line band is one of New Orleans’ most joyful traditions—and yes, you’re part of it! Originating from jazz funerals, the “first line” is the brass band leading the way, and the “second line” is everyone who follows—dancing, clapping, waving handkerchiefs, and celebrating life. At weddings, it’s like a walking party parade through the streets—complete with trumpets, tubas, and serious swagger. So when the band starts playing, don’t be shy. Grab a hanky, fall in line, and let the music move you. It’s part dance, part parade, and 100% New Orleans magic.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is street only parking - so we recommend an uber, and that way you can party the New Orleans way!

Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

At The Mazant—a historic 1880s Creole mansion in the heart of the Bywater. It’s all Southern charm, wraparound porches, and funky New Orleans soul. The perfect spot to sip, dance, and second line the night away.

Question

Whats the plan for the after party?

Answer

When the reception winds down, the night is just getting started. Buses roll out at 9:00 PM to Bourbon Street for anyone ready to keep dancing, sipping, and celebrating.
