Formal attire, please.
Please arrive ~15 minutes before the start of the ceremony. Please remember to turn off and put away your cell phones.
Both are on campus and either a short walk or drive away. The Basilica is a ~5 minute walk to the Morris Inn where our reception will be. If you are up to it, we'd recommend parking at the Morris Inn first and walking to and from the ceremony. This is also advised as due to construction at the Main Gate, it will take longer than usual to drive to the Basilica. Please see the next FAQ for more info on parking.
For the ceremony, you can park in the back of the Basilica in the Grotto Lot or St. Liam's Lot. You will enter campus through the Main Gate at Holy Cross Dr. and Notre Dame Ave. For the reception, there will be parking available at the Morris Inn for $10 or you can self park in the BK1 lot (west of the bookstore, ~5 min walk to Morris Inn). If you are a guest of the Morris Inn, there is overnight parking for $20, or you can self-park in the BK1 lot. Please go to the Morris Inn drive where the staff can direct you to the correct lots.
We recommend taking a short walk around campus to see the Grotto, Touchdown Jesus, the stadium or maybe even North Quad where Barbara & Case met (Farley & Stanford Halls). Or you can head straight to the Morris Inn. If you have time before the cocktail hour, check out Rohr's in the Morris Inn Lobby for a drink or weather permitting hang out on Rohr's fireside terrace.
We will follow Notre Dame's policy for vaccines and masks while we're guests on campus. At this time, proof of vaccination submitted in advance is no longer required. For those who are not vaccinated, masks are required in the Basilica. Please be respectful of the campus community, especially as they start their new school year. We highly encourage everyone to get vaccinated and we will keep you informed of policies as they evolve.
If you'd like to stay near campus, we would recommend Rohr's for a casual dinner. If you'd like to drive a few minutes, we'd suggest LaSalle Grill, Cafe Navarre, The Lauber, Crooked Ewe, Rocco's Pizza, Ruth's Chris or Fiddler's Hearth. For breweries, check out Crooked Ewe, Evil Czech or South Bend Brew Werks (fun fact: Barbara did a class project to help launch SBBW). For classic, down-to-earth South Bend bars, you could check out Corby's (Rudy was filmed there) and the Backer (Linebacker Lounge). Think more divey, less fancy.
Yes! Please write in vegetarian or vegan on your RSVP card in lieu of checking beef or fish.
Please remember to bring your ID as it's required in Indiana, even if you look over 21 :)
