The Invisible String Theory embodies an “everything happens for a reason” foundation, where the invisible string will bring you the person you’ve been waiting for. The person who’s been in your life so much more than you realize in small or invisible ways. And when the timing's just right, the stars align and the “string” brings you two together. As cliché as that sounds, we genuinely believe this to be true. "The Corner of Frazier/Pierce" As David and I sit here and try to remember our very first interactions, we find that we actually knew of each other more than a decade before we "formally met". David moved from L.A. to Dalton in 2006, where he started school at Dalton High. Our paths never purposefully crossed during school time, but after school they did. David was one of the lucky kids who got a car right at 16. So while I was getting off the bus, David would drive around my neighborhood in his silver Mitsubishi. I remember it vividly, because he would just drive around my street, while my friend Anabel and I would chismear at our drop-off spot; the corner of Frazier & Pierce. We'd be talking and Anabel would say "here comes the cutie with the nice car"- we'd both stop talking to "look cool" (as cool as two highschoolers who were getting off a bus could look) I remember being so annoyed with him, he clearly wanted our attention, but was always so stuck up. He would just blast the music a todo lo que dava and be on his merry way. David swears he never noticed us... He's lying tho haha. "What Dreams May Come" While I was in college, my best friend and I got tickets to our very first concert, J. Cole's What Dreams May Come tour. We were obsessed with him. Karen had a friend named Eduardo, who actually introduced her to a lot of his music, so the night of the concert, they ran into each other and said Hi... and guess what? David just so happened to be at that same concert with Eduardo. We didn't see each other but after we started dating we realized once again our paths had crossed. "October" Many years later, our paths would cross again, this time destiny was more intentional about getting us together. We were both on our fitness journeys, so I'd see him at the gym, we'd do the little "tight lip" smile you give guerros at the grocery store. In October (clearly the best month of all time) the Invisible String tightened it's hold. From running into each other for Elisa's birthday weekend, to him tagging along with Jose for my birthday outing, all things led to that weekend. October 20, 2018. Our mutual friends, Anniz and Jessy were celebrating their marriage and we were both guest to their wedding. For the past two weekends we'd been subtly flirty (him more than me) and at one point during the wedding we exchanged a few casual words. I didn't make much out of the interaction, so while I was in the bathroom, a tipsy Karen (Laylo's gf (now wife) at the time) said, "Hey, I heard you're talking to Davo." I remember telling her I didn't know anyone named Davo, and she replied with, "David, he's Laylo's best friend. Laylo told me y'all were talking." I smiled and said, "But I just met him!" I remember immediately blushing because at that point it all made sense. David HAD been flirting with me, he HAD been trying to make a move, and he WAS being intentional about getting to know me. I left the bathroom ready to sit down, talk to "Davo" and let him know I was interested too. that night we breezed through topic after topic, held eye contact, made jokes, and it felt so right. I even caught the bouquet! Before the night came to a close, I ended up making up a story about an after party as an excuse to get his number. I did, and the rest is history. "The Knot" Since October 20th, 2018 I have shared my life with David in some way or form. The theory states that despite time, distance, or obstacles they will find their way back. The invisible string has done it's thing and here we are, about to make a permanent knot.
