Asheville has a regional airport which is a great option for anyone traveling by plane. It has 1 terminal with 6 gates (which means hardly any security lines!), but also connects to most international airports on the East Coast including: - Charlotte (CLT) - Raleigh (RDU) - Atlanta (ATL) - Washington D.C. (DCA) - Philadelphia (PHL) - Newark (EWR) - LaGuardia (LGA) - Boston (BOS) - Miami (MIA) - Orlando (MCO) - Fort Lauderdale (FLL)

Flight

Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT)

The closest international airport is Charlotte Douglas International Airport, which is about a 2-hour drive from Asheville. Rental cars are available at the airport.

Travel Note

Rental Cars

Public transportation in Asheville is non-existent. A rental car is highly recommended, but Ubers are also readily available in town should you choose to forego a rental car. Downtown is very walkable! If you plan on exploring the broader Asheville area (hiking, driving on Blue Ridge Parkway, visiting Mt. Mitchell/Navitat, or any activities outside the immediate Asheville area), you will need a rental car. Ubers may take you out there, but there's no guarantee you can get back :)

Travel Note

ESTA

If you are not a US citizen, please ensure you apply for your ESTA (or one you have applied for in the past is up-to-date!) We would recommend doing this at least a few weeks before you plan to travel to ensure there are no delays!
