One beautiful element of wedding ceremonies in the Quaker tradition is a period of time for the guests to offer words of reflection, blessing, and encouragement for the couple. We feel this could be a meaningful opportunity to hear from and connect with our community of support, so we would like to bring this unique tradition into our ceremony and invite you, our guests, to participate. There will be a period during our wedding ceremony where we hold space for any of our guests who may be interested in doing so to share. Any variety of expressions would be welcomed, including, but not limited to your reflections on our relationship, blessings for our marriage and life together, and words of encouragement. Your thoughts could be written-out or extemporaneous, your own words or fitting poems, quotes, or readings. We recognize this is not something that everyone will feel comfortable participating in. Please know that the gift of your presence at our wedding speaks more than a thousand words. But, for those who may be interested in participating in this particular way - especially since it’s not something that is part of many of our traditions - we wanted to give you the opportunity to consider and prepare. We hope we may hear from some of you!
