Baley had flown out to San Jose, CA for work when she was introduced to Chris at their NXP office, followed by him joining her for a career fair the next day. They were both immediately interested and Baley will even claim it was love at first sight, but Chris was a bit skeptical about the distance and scared to hit on "the girl in HR" (even though he contemplated asking her out that night!). A few weeks passed and Baley couldn't stop thinking about him so she sent an email - she couldn't believe he hadn't yet reached out! After a few messages back and forth Chris signed up to join Baley at another career fair in California a few weeks later, which is where they had their first official date getting drinks afterwards. A few long months went by with rare weekend visits, since Baley was living halfway across the country in Austin, TX, until COVID-19 hit. While unfortunate, they were grateful to be moved to fully remote work which resulted in getting the opportunity to spend more time together than they ever thought would be possible. Once per month weekend trips turned into month-long adventures trapped inside our apartments together - playing games, talking for hours, and falling into the best love they've ever known. After about a year of long distance, Chris receives, out of the blue, an incredible job opportunity that moved him to Austin, TX. (If that's not fate, we're not sure what is!) Four months after moving they purchased and moved into their first home, and within a month adopted their precious "dog-ter", Maple Leaf, the cutest Beagle you have ever seen! Fast forward three incredibly happy years and Chris finally proposed to Baley on November 22, 2024, eight days before their four year anniversary!! <3
