If you're into nature and scenic views, head to Halibut Point State Park for a walk along the trails and take in the stunning ocean vistas. For some live music, the Shalin Liu Performance Center offers a great atmosphere with its ocean backdrop. If you're curious about local history, the Sandy Bay Historical Society & Museums has some interesting exhibits. And of course, don't miss relaxing on beaches like Front Beach and Back Beach—perfect for a leisurely day by the sea.
The North Shore has so much to explore! In Gloucester, the Cape Ann Museum offers a wonderful collection of local art and history. If you're up for a unique experience, the Hammond Castle Museum is a fascinating medieval-style castle with lots of interesting artifacts. For those who love being on the water, consider taking a scenic boat tour with Essex River Cruises & Charters. It's a relaxing way to see the area's natural beauty. Gloucester is also home to our favorite Massachusetts beach, Good Harbor - buy parking in advance and take advantage of some sunshine. The Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary in Topsfield is a peaceful place to walk and spot some wildlife. These spots provide a mix of art, history, and outdoor activities that we're sure you'll enjoy.
Salem is a must-visit for its rich history and unique charm. The Salem Witch Museum offers an intriguing look into the 1692 witch trials. The Witch House, which belonged to one of the trial judges, also offers a fascinating glimpse into the past. Peak tourism is typically around Halloween, so it's a great time to visit just as everything is ramping up.
If you're planning a day trip to Boston, there's plenty to do! The Freedom Trail is a great way to see some of the city's most historic sites, like the Boston Common and Paul Revere's House. Fenway Park is a must-see for baseball fans—catch a game if you can! Art enthusiasts will love the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA), which has an impressive collection from around the world. For a peaceful break, take a walk through the Boston Public Garden and maybe even ride the swan boats. Families will have a great time at the New England Aquarium, which is full of fascinating marine life. Faneuil Hall Marketplace is perfect for shopping and enjoying street performances.
